Fall with EXPRESS

Fall is finally here! It’s my favorite season of the year, mainly because it allows you to be more playful with your outfits (in terms of layers, accessories, colors, almost everything goes for fall) and because it’s a time of transition. Just as the leaves start fading to yellowish-red tones, right before they come off the trees, and as the days become shorter again and mornings get cooler, it’s a good time of the year to re-think about what we wanted to accomplish this year, and prioritize what we want to get done in the last stretch. Personally I think this is a great opportunity to refocus our minds and energy towards ending the year in the best way possible, and I always try to be very reflective come this time of year.

On this occasion, my friend Ean (from the Seattle Gents) and I were reached out by EXPRESS to collaborate on their latest fall collection. You might remember that I’ve partnered with EXPRESS several times in the past, so when they reached out again I got really excited. Given the fall transition, we both tried to capture fall-appropriate looks via playful accessories and layering multiple pieces. We had a great time choosing and combining our outfits (which we didn’t plan to exactly match but overall worked really well next to each other) and were able to enjoy a beautiful day in the Freeway Park of downtown Seattle.

For our photoshoot, I decided to wear an emerald green suit from EXPRESS along with a floral shirt, also from EXPRESS, and a simple gray tie from J. Crew. I really wanted this ensamble to pop, so for the shoe I went for some Salvatore Ferragamo plum shoes and a pair of clear sunglasses from Sharply to top the look. As for Ean, he is wearing a shiny blue suit from EXPRESS with a plain white shirt from the same brand. A burnt orange tie and scarf lock in the look, and you can see him pairing up this ensamble with some rust boots and a matching leather bag. What do you guys think? ¡El otoño ha llegado! Es mi estación favorita del año, principalmente porque te permite jugar un poco más con tus outfits (en términos de capas, accesorios, colores, casi cualquier cosa funciona en esta temporada) y porque es un período de transición. Justo cuando las hojas de los árboles comienzan a tornarse a tonos amarillos y rojizos antes de que empiecen a caer y, conforme los días se vuelven a hacer cortos y las mañanas a ser más frescas, es un buen momento del año para reflexionar sobre lo que queríamos lograr y priorizar qué queremos hacer en este último jalón. Personalmente, creo que es una gran oportunidad para re-enfocar nuestras mentes y energía para terminar el año de la mejor manera posible y, siempre trato de ser muy reflexivo cuando llega esta época.

En esta ocasión, mi amigo Ean (de los Seattle Gents) y yo fuimos contactados por EXPRESS para colaborar con su más reciente colección para el otoño. Recordarán que ya había colaborado con EXPRESS en situaciones pasadas, así que cuando volvieron a acercarse me emocioné bastante. Dada la transición otoñal, los dos decidimos capturar atuendos adecuados para la temporada por medio del juego de accesorios y al hacer diferentes capas. Nos la pasamos muy bien escogiendo y combinando nuestros outfits (para los cuales no planeamos mucho que fueran a verse bien uno junto al otro pero todo funcionó a la perfección) y pudimos disfrutar de un gran día en el Freeway Park del centro de Seattle.

Para nuestra sesión de fotos, decidí ponerme un traje en color verde esmeralda de EXPRESS junto con una camisa floral, también de EXPRESS y una simple corbata gris de J. Crew. Realmente quería hacer que este look resaltara, entonces para el calzado opté por unos zapatos en color ciruela de Salvatore Ferragamo y un par de lentes de sol transparentes de Sharply completaron el atuendo. En cuanto a Ean, él está vistiendo un traje brillante en color azul de EXPRESS junto con una camisa blanca de botones de la misma marca. Una corbata y bufanda en color cobre complementan el look, y pueden ver como combinó este ensamble junto con unas botas de cuero y un bolso del mismo material. ¿Qué opinan? ¿Ya están listos para obtener unos atuendos increíbles para el otoño de parte de EXPRESS? Bueno eso va a ser todo por hoy.
