Hey hey! How are things going with you guys? Another month goes by, and without noticing, we are almost half-way through the year already. Crazy, isn’t it? It feels like just a couple weeks ago I was writing you about my New Year’s resolutions, and almost in the blink of an eye, we’ve turned the page. It’s a little mesmerizing to see how beautiful Seattle gets as the year starts to approach summer, and almost like clockwise, the days are starting to get longer (way past the 14-hours of daylight!) and of course, warmer. That’s what makes the Pacific Northwest such a great place to live, it comes alive like no place I’ve ever lived in during the summer months.
From the darkest of alleys in Pioneer Square, with such a long history and reminiscing past tattooed in its walls just like graffiti, to the gorgeous sunset on the waterfront boardwalk, each and every corner of the city of Seattle turns it up a few notches as summer approaches. I’ve always thought that’s the main thing about this city that makes it so unique. it has such a rich past and history from the Native Americans that once roamed these lands, that you can still feel their mark make a difference from the tall skyscrapers that now reign over the downtown skyline. In that sense, we’re still living among them and they are still living here with us, together, in the great PNW.
To honor the great Upper Left coast I wanted to represent both the American West and a more urban, city vibe with the following two looks. On the first look, you can see me wearing a soft blue. chambray shirt from Club Monaco along with some black jeans from Topman. My brown leather boots are from J. Crew, and for the accessories, I’m wearing my Brixton hat with a pair of Ted Baker sunglasses. My second outfit comprises a tan sports jacket from Club Monaco, along with a military green shirt from Topman and a pair of washed jeans from that same shop. My shoe is an Adidas pair of gray sneakers, and for the accessories, a gray leather belt from Club Monaco and my Skagen smartwatch. What do you all think? I want to give a huge shout out to Blake for photographing this shoot. He has a great eye for scouting out the best locations and he also made me look like a million bucks in these two outfits. There is such great photography talent in Seattle, and Blake’s among the best ones!
With that last thought I’ll leave you all for now. If you ever get a chance, make sure you visit the Pacific Northwest (and especially Seattle) in the summer months. It’s an amazing experience that I’m sure you will enjoy! Currently I’m in my hometown of Monterrey, Mexico just for the weekend because it’s my brother’s college graduation. Next in line I have another trip next weekend to the city of Indianapolis, and then I’m home for a while, ready to enjoy the summer months and everything that comes with it (Solstice Parade, Seattle Pride, 4th of July weekend, etc.) I also have a couple surprises up my sleeve with some collaborations and brands I’ve been working with, and there’s more to see from the Seattle Gents very soon, so keep posted to my blog. ¡Hola, hola! ¿Cómo les está yendo a todos? Otro mes más nos deja y, sin darnos cuenta, estamos ya casi pasando la primera mitad del año. ¿Suena loco, a poco no? Se siente como si hace tan sólo unas semanas les estaba escribiendo acerca de mis propósitos de año nuevo y, casi en un pestañeo, hemos dado vuelta a la página. Es asombroso el ver lo hermosa que la ciudad de Seattle se vuelve conforme nos acercamos al verano y, justo como las manecillas del reloj, los días ya se vuelven más largos (¡sobrepasando las 14 horas de luz solar!) y por supuesto, más cálidos. Eso es algo que hace que el Pacífico Noroeste sea un excelente lugar para vivir como ningún otro, vuelve a la vida como ningún lugar en donde antes haya vivido con la llegada del verano.
Desde el más oscuro callejón en Pioneer Square, con su larga historia que nos recuerda al pasado, tatuado en sus paredes como graffiti, hasta los bellos atardeceres en la costa, cada una de las esquinas de la ciudad de Seattle se transforman en verano. Y siempre eso ha sido algo que me ha convencido de lo que hace que esta ciudad sea tan especial. Tiene un pasado tan rico e histórico desde que los nativos norteamericanos vivían en estas tierras, que aún hoy en día podemos sentir su huella diferenciarse sobre los altos rascacielos que ahora reinan en el paisaje de downtown. En ese sentido, aun estamos viviendo aquí con ellos y ellos viven con nosotros, en el gran Pacífico Noroeste.
Para honrar a la esquina superior izquierda del país quería representar tanto al antiguo viejo oeste como a una vibra un poco más citadina con los siguientes dos looks. En el primer atuendo pueden verme vistiendo una camisa en mezclilla azul celeste de Club Monaco junto con unos jeans en color negro de Topman. Mis botas de piel en color café son de J. Crew y, para los accesorios, me puse mi sombrero Brixton junto con un par de lentes de sol Ted Baker. Mi segundo outfit consiste en un saco tipo sport en color khaki de Club Monaco, combinado con una camisa en color verde militar de Topman y un par de jeans deslavados de la misma marca. Mis zapatos con unos tenis Adidas en color gris claro y, para los accesorios, un cinto de piel en color gris de Club Monaco y mi smartwatch de Skagen. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? Quisiera otorgar una mención a Blake, el fotógrafo que realizó esta sesión. Él tiene un gran ojo para encontrar las mejores locaciones y además hizo que me viera como un millón de dólares en estos atuendos. Hay muchísimo talento fotográfico en el area de Seattle y Blake, sin duda, ¡es uno de los mejores!
Con eso último me retiro por ahora. Si tienen la oportunidad les recomiendo ampliamente visitar al Pacífico Noroeste (y sobre todo a Seattle) en la temporada veraniega. ¡Es una experiencia increíble que sé que van a disfrutar! En estos momentos, me encuentro en mi ciudad natal de Monterrey, México sólo por el fin de semana para la graduación de carrera de mi hermano. Mi siguiente viaje es el próximo fin de semana a la ciudad de Indianapolis y luego estaré en casa por un tiempo, listo para disfrutar de los meses de verano y todo lo que llega con ellos (el Solstice Parade, Seattle Pride, el fin del 4 de julio, entre otros). También les tengo un par de sorpresas más con algunas colaboraciones con marcas con las que he estado trabajando últimamente y hay más que ver de los Seattle Gents muy próximamente, así que manténganse al pendiente del blog. Recuerden vestirse con estilo y dejar que los demás escuchen su voz. Nos vemos en un par de semanas con más looks de día y estilo veraniego. ¡Hasta la próxima vez que nos veamos!
