Last Glimpse of Summer x NVSBL

Hi everyone! I’m finally back in Seattle after a much deserved vacation in Portugal and Southern Spain (you may have all seen this on my Instagram feed). I thought I was coming back to a gloomy and rainy Seattle, but it is actually quite nice in here. One could say these are the last glimpses of summer in the PNW, but hey, I can’t complain about a few more days of 70 degrees and sunny days. These past few weeks have been quite hectic and busy for me. I had all the events related to Bellevue Fashion Week before going on my trip, and also the Meet Your Crew Fall Style Event at J. Crew. This event was a total success, so thank you to all that joined and, for the ones that couldn’t make it, a blog post with the recap is coming to the blog really soon. We’re heading now towards the end of the year, and there’s still a lot of new content and new projects that I have in place, so just bear with me these last two months and keep coming back to the blog. I promise you’ll love this content!

Today I want to share with you a collaboration that my friend Raf from My West Edge, and Antonio from Seattle Gents, did with an undershirt brand called NVSBL. We often put some thought and focus into things that we wear that people can see, such as our shirts, pants, shoes, and accessories. However, something that’s very important, and that most of the times goes unseen, is our undergarments, particularly the undershirt. Having the right undershirt is key so that the shirt we put on top fits in the right places and we maintain our bodies fresh and transpiration-free. NVSBL is a brand that has got you covered in the two main things you want in an undershirt: comfort and invisibility. They also come in multiple colors, since a white undershirt might not be the best option for all skin tones, and the fabric is spandex, so the shirt remains fitted but also breathable and durable.

For our collaboration with NVSBL I decided to try the light yellow undershirt, since it goes well with my skin tone and I wanted to use it as a regular shirt. Since these shirts are made with such nice, quality fabrics, then you can wear them as a regular shirt or as an undershirt, which is a really cool thing. I paired up the yellow NVSBL shirt with my camouflage pants from Club Monaco, since it’s already fall and this pattern goes really well with the season. Then I placed a white blazer from Topman as the outerwear. For the accessories, I opted for my Burberry sunglasses along with my Skagen smartwatch. Finally, for the shoes I went for my red pair of Nike’s, which give a really nice pop of color to the whole outfit. In Raf’s case, you can see how he paired the undershirt with a plain white shirt and some olive chinos. You can see the versatility of the clothes, since we’re wearing the exact same model of undershirt! What do you guys think? As you may know, I’m a Mexican citizen so I’m not allowed to vote in the upcoming midterm elections. However, these elections (and any elections in fact) are super important, since they define who will be in control to rule this country in the upcoming years. I just want to ask you, that whomever you vote for, you do so consciously and informed. And, most importantly, that you don’t sit out on it because in this, as in any democracy, your vote is your voice. So in the same way that I have always told you to let your voice be heard, please let your voice be heard in this democracy by VOTING. See you in a couple of weeks with more style and more fashion. ¡Hola a todos! Me encuentro finalmente de vuelta en Seattle después de unas muy merecidas vacaciones en Portugal y en el sur de España (algunos de ustedes quizás ya vieron esto en mi feed de Instagram). Yo pensaba que regresaría a la lluvia y el frío de la ciudad de Seattle, pero en realidad sigue estando muy agradable aquí. Uno podría decir que estos son los últimos destellos del verano en el Pacífico Noroeste, pero oigan, no me puedo quejar de un par de días más arriba de los 20 grados y con clima soleado. Estas últimas semanas han estado bastante ajetreadas y me he visto muy ocupado recientemente. Asistí a todos los eventos relacionados con Bellevue Fashion Week antes de partir para mi viaje, y además tuvimos el evento de moda otoñal Meet Your Crew en J. Crew. Este evento fue un verdadero éxito, así que muchas gracias a todos los que asistieron y a los que no, no se preocupen, muy pronto podrán ver la recapitulación aquí en el blog. Nos acercamos ya al final del año, pero eso no significa que no haya nuevo contenido y nuevos proyectos que tengo planeados en mente, así que solo séanme pacientes y sigan visitando el blog. ¡Les aseguro que les encantará este contenido!

Hoy quisiera compartirles la más reciente colaboración que mi amigo Raf, de My West Edge, y Antonio de los Seattle Gents, hicimos con una marca de camisetas interiores llamada NVSBL. A menudo le dedicamos algo de nuestro tiempo y atención a las cosas que vestimos que las demás personas pueden ver, como son nuestras camisetas, pantalones, zapatos y accesorios. Sin embargo, algo que es muy importante, y que muchas veces solo pasa desapercibida, es nuestra ropa interior, particularmente la camiseta interior. Tener la camiseta interior correcta es clave para que nuestras camisas que nos pongamos encima se ajusten en los lugares correctos y mantengan a nuestros cuerpos frescos y bien transpirados. NVSBL es una marca que te tiene cubierto en las dos principales características que quieres de una camiseta interior: confort e invisibilidad. Vienen en múltiples colores, ya que una camiseta interior blanca puede no ser la mejor opción para todos los tonos de piel, y la tela es spandex, entonces la camiseta se mantiene bien ajustada pero al mismo tiempo transpirable y duradera.

Para nuestra colaboración con NVSBL escogí la camiseta en color amarillo claro, ya que creo que le va bien a mi color de piel y además quería utilizarla como una camiseta normal. Dado que estas camisetas están hechas con muy buena tela y de gran calidad, uno las puede usar tanto como camiseta exterior como interior, lo cual es algo que me pareció increíble. Me puse la camiseta NVSBL amarilla con mis pantalones de camuflaje de Club Monaco, ya que es otoño y este patrón le va muy bien a la temporada. Después, me puse un saco blanco de Topman como capa exterior. Para los accesorios, opté por mis lentes de sol de Burberry y mi smartwatch de Skagen. Finalmente, para el calzado elegí mi par de tennis Nike en color rojo, ya que le da un toque de color a todo el conjunto. En el caso de Raf, podemos ver como emparejó su camiseta interior con una camisa blanca de botones y unos pantalones en color verde olivo. Pueden notar la versatilidad de estas prendas, ¡ya que ambos decidimos usar exactamente el mismo modelo de camiseta! ¿Ustedes qué opinan? La próxima vez que estén pensando en comprar una camiseta interior, asegúrense de probar esta marca. Noviembre marca además el segundo aniversario de los Seattle Gents y, ¡el cuarto aniversario de Geek Q! Va a haber muchas sorpresas (¡incluyendo un giveaway!) así que manténganse al tanto del blog y de mis redes sociales para saber como formar parte de estas dos celebraciones. Y finalmente, les tengo una pequeña petición más que hacer. Como ustedes sabrán, yo soy un ciudadano mexicano así que no voy a poder votar en las siguientes elecciones de medio término. Sin embargo, estas elecciones (y cualquier proceso electoral en general) es súper importante, ya que define quién va a estar en control en este país por los años venideros. Lo único que les quiero pedir es que, sea quien sea el candidato por el que vayan a votar, lo hagan consciente e informadamente. Y, más importante aún, que no dejen pasar la oportunidad no yendo a votar, ya que como en cualquier democracia, el voto es su voz. Así que, del mismo modo que les digo siempre que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz, por favor hagan que su voz sea escuchada en esta democracia VOTANDO. Los veo en un par de semanas con más de estilo y moda de temporada. ¡Hasta la próxima!
