As you may already know, spring is the perfect season to renew your wardrobe and to try something new. It could be a wild, interesting print, a color that you don’t use, or a completely different style to what you usually wear. The key is to make sure that you’re still within your comfort zone, since nothing portrays confidence in a better way than a comfortable look, and you may still take some risks in some particular areas. These were a few of the tips that we received last week at the first Spring Event hosted by the Seattle Gents at Scout PNW in the Thompson Hotel, which was a really nice evening full of style talks, good drinks, and of course great fashion.
The main goal of the event was to discuss spring fashion, which let’s face it, in a city like Seattle it is always a struggle to know how to dress for the occasion. One of the main challenges with spring is that as the days get longer, they also tend to get warmer. However, with our natural air conditioner which is the Pacific Ocean, mornings and evenings still tend to be cold, so you have to dress in layers. It’s fun too though, because layers add a whole new dimension to your outfit, and you have to think about cohesion and the stylishness of each piece as separates.
For this special evening, I decided to wear a full-on spring combination comprised of a gray blazer from Topman and a floral blue button-down from Club Monaco. I paired these two with my favorite jeans from Topman and completed the look with a baby blue bow tie, also from the same store (you can tell I like Topman right?) For the shoe, I went for a brown Chelsea boot from Aldo and my colorful, Fair Isle socks are from J. Crew. This was the perfect ensamble for the evening, since as the sun went down it actually turned from warm to cool, and I was able to enjoy the night by having one of my favorite drinks: a Moscow Mule. Next week is Memorial Day weekend, and I’m traveling to Mexico for the wedding of my best childhood friend in the beautiful beach town of Los Mochis. I’m really excited for this, and I’ll be honored to be a witness at the wedding. Also, it will be very hot and sunny, which will be a great escape from the cooler PNW spring weather. Como ya muchos de ustedes sabrán, la primavera es la temporada perfecta para renovar su guardarropa y probar algo nuevo. Puede ser un estampado alocado e interesante, o un color que no acostumbren usar, o un estilo completamente diferente a lo que suelen vestir. La clave está en asegurarse que se encuentren dentro de la zona de confort, ya que nada exude más confianza que en look en el que se sientan cómodos, y claro siempre pueden tomar riesgos en ciertas áreas en particular. Estos fueron algunos de los tips que recibimos la semana pasada en el primer Evento de Primavera auspiciado por los Seattle Gents en el Scout PWN en el Hotel Thompson, la cual fue una velada increíble llena de pláticas sobre estilo, excelentes bebidas y por supuesto, looks muy a la moda.
El principal objetivo del evento era discutir acerca de la moda de primavera, la cual enfrentémoslo, en una ciudad como Seattle siempre es un reto saber cómo vestirse de acuerdo a la ocasión. Uno de los retos más importantes en primavera es que conforme los días se alargar, también la temperatura comienza a subir. Sin embargo, teniendo a nuestro aire acondicionado natural que es el océano Pacífico, las mañanas y noches tienden a ser más frescas, así que uno tiene que vestirse en capas. Es divertido, ya que las capas agregan una dimensión más al outfit y uno tiene que pensar tanto en la cohesión como en la individualidad del estilo de las piezas por separado.
Para esta noche especial, decidí vestir una combinación completamente primaveral que consistía en un saco en color gris de Topman con una camisa de botones floral en color azul de Club Monaco. Me puse con estos mi par de jeans favoritos de Topman y completé el look con un moño en color azul cielo, también de la misma tienda (¿pueden decir que me gusta mucho Topman, verdad?) Para el calzado, opté por una bota estilo Chelsea en color café de Aldo y mis calcetines coloridos de las islas nórdicas de J. Crew. Este fue el atuendo ideal para la ocasión, ya que conforme bajaba el sol realmente se empezó a poner más fresco, y además pude disfrutar de la noche con una de mis bebidas favoritas: un Moscow Mule. ¿Qué opinan amigos? ¿Están listos para incorporar algunos de estos consejos en su moda de primavera? La próxima semana es el fin de semana de Memorial y estaré viajando a México para la boda de uno de mis mejores amigos de la infancia en el hermoso pueblo de Los Mochis. Estoy muy emocionado y tendré el honor de ser uno de los testigos de la boda. También hará mucho calor y sol en esa ciudad, así que será un excelente escape del clima más fresco del Pacífico Noroeste.
