Spring Strikes Back

Hello folks! Happy Hump Day! I’m happy to say that an old friend of mine is back, and I couldn’t be any happier, and that’s spring! Finally, after the now infamous winter-that-would-never-end, spring weather is back in the Pacific Northwest and I’m just hoping it’s here to stay. Don’t get me wrong, I love being able to layer-up during the winter and my winter clothes are some of my favorite, but after what was deemed to be our worst winter in Seattle in terms of temperatures since 1985 (yeah, that’s even before I was born) and us having a mere 3 sunny days since the beginning of October (I didn’t know it was this bad!), I was eager to be able to dress lightly again and to see the sun once more. Of course, this early arrival of spring also brought my seasonal allergies back into the picture, but that’s something that happens every year and that I can live with. What I can’t live without no matter what is sunlight, so I’m happy that spring has stroke back.

The other day, my blog BFF Kim and I reunited after a couple weeks of both of us traveling and being super busy with work to catch up with our lives and take some pretty, early spring photos. We went to downtown Redmond, where one of our favorite ice cream shops called Molly Moon’s just opened recently, and were able to enjoy a nice scoop of ice cream and talk about what’s being going on lately. This was definitely one of the highlights of my week, since even though we don’t see each other super often, when we do it’s like if time has never gone by. And we even had some time to shoot a few photos on the streets of this area, which has changed a lot in the past 5 (almost 6) years that I’ve lived here. All and all we had an amazing time together and we are already planning our next meet up and next photoshoot.

For my reunion with Kim, I decided to wear a very fresh, casual combination of denim joggers with a 3-layer mix of cotton deck-striped t-shirt, a gingham-square baby blue button-down, all of these from J. Crew, and an olive green utility jacket from 21 Men. I’m so happy that it feels like spring already because I could finally leave the coat back at home, and this outfit works perfectly for the balmy 50-degree weather that we’ve had as of lately. For the shoes, I decided to go for my white Lacoste sneakers, and we shot some pics while walking on the streets of Redmond Town Center. What do you guys think? Are you as ready as I am for starting to ditch those heavy coats and bring out the lighter clothing? I want to thank Kim for these amazing photos and for having such a blast with me. Well that’s going to be it for today. Last weekend, I was finally able to shoot with Nini for our special collaboration, and now we’re just waiting for the photos, which in previews looked incredible, so you can’t miss that this month. Also, next week is my 6th anniversary since I moved to Seattle and I can’t believe how fast time flew by. I’ve definitely made lots of friends, enjoyed so many experiences, and had too many good memories during that timeframe and I’m super excited about what’s coming next for me. This last year was one of a lot of growth in many areas, and I am extremely hopeful about my future in this beautiful city which I have been calling home for almost 6 years. There are still a lot of surprises coming to the blog soon, more collaborations with brands, more from the Seattle Gents, and of course, more meetups and collaborations with bloggers, so you can’t miss on this. I also want to thank all of you who liked my Facebook page last time, and let’s keep adding on followers to that platform, it’s the best way to not miss any of my content. ¡Hola amigos! ¡Feliz mitad de la semana! Estoy muy contento de poder platicarles que una amiga mía finalmente está de regreso y no podría estar más feliz, ¡estoy hablando de la primavera por supuesto! Finalmente, después del ahora nombrado invierno-de-nunca-acabar, el clima primaveral está de regreso en el Pacífico Noroeste y yo lo único que espero que es que esté de regreso para quedarse. No me malinterpreten, me encanta poder vestir en capas en invierno y algunas de mis prendas de invierno son de mis favoritas, pero después de lo que ya denominaron como el peor invierno en Seattle en términos de temperaturas desde 1985 (así es, yo todavía ni nacía) y después del hecho de que sólo hemos tenido 3 días completamente soleados desde octubre (no pensé que estuvieran tan mal las cosas), estaba ansioso por poder volver a vestirme con ropa más ligera y en ver al sol una vez más. Por supuesto, esta llegada tempranera de la primavera también trajo consigo de vuelta mis alergias, pero eso es algo que sucede todos los años y con lo que puedo acostumbrarme a vivir. Con lo que no puedo acostumbrarme a vivir en su ausencia casi total es la luz solar, así que estoy contento de que la primavera haya regresado.

El otro día, mi mejor amiga blogger Kim y yo nos reunimos después de un par de semanas en que los dos estuvimos viajando y muy ocupados en el trabajo para ponernos al corriente y tomar unas fotos del inicio de la primavera. Fuimos al centro de Redmond, donde una de nuestras neverías favoritas, Molly Moon’s, abrió recientemente y pudimos disfrutar de un delicioso helado mientras platicábamos de nuestras vidas. Este fue definitivamente uno de los sucesos más importantes de mi semana, ya que aunque no nos vemos tan seguido, cuando nos vemos es como si el tiempo no hubiera pasado. Y además tuvimos el tiempo de tomar un par de fotos en las calles de esta zona, que ha cambiado mucho en los últimos 5 (casi 6) años que llevo viviendo aquí. En general nos la pasamos muy bien juntos y ya empezamos a planear nuestra próxima reunión y nuestra próxima sesión de fotos.

Para mi reunión con Kim, decidí ponerme una combinación muy casual y fresca de joggers de mezclilla con una mezcla de tres capas compuesta por una camiseta de marino en algodón, una camisa de cuadros celeste, todo esto de J. Crew, y una chamarra color verde de utilidad de 21 Men. Estoy muy contento de que ya se sienta como primavera porque al fin pude dejar el abrigo en la casa y siento que este outfit funciona a la perfección en el clima agradable de 10 grados que hemos tenido más recientemente. Para los zapatos, opté por usar mis tennis blancos Lacoste, y tomamos algunas fotos mientras caminaba por las calles de Redmond Town Center. ¿Qué opinan amigos? ¿Están tan listos como yo para dejar atrás las chamarras gruesas y los abrigos y sacar la ropa más ligera? Quisiera agradecerle a mi amiga Kim por estás increíbles fotos y por pasar un tiempo tan divertido conmigo. ¡Te quiero mucho!

Eso será todo por esta ocasión. El fin de semana pasado, Nini y yo al fin pudimos hacer la sesión de fotos que tanto estábamos preparando, y ya sólo estamos esperando al fotógrafo, pero de los previews se ve increíble, no se lo pueden perder este mes. También, la próxima semana es mi 6to aniversario desde que me mudé a Seattle y no puedo creer lo rápido que se pasó el tiempo. Definitivamente he hecho muchos amigos en el trayecto, disfrutado de muchísimas experiencias y tengo bastantes gratas memorias durante estos años y estoy muy emocionado por lo que todavía está por venir. Este último año fue uno de mucho crecimiento para mi en muchas áreas y estoy viendo con mucha esperanza hacia mi futuro en esta hermosa ciudad que desde hace casi 6 años puedo llamar hogar. Todavía quedan muchas sorpresas más para el blog próximamente, más colaboraciones con marcas, más de los Seattle Gents, y por supuesto más reuniones y colaboraciones con otros bloggers, ¡no se pueden perder todo esto! También quisiera agradecerles a todos los que le dieron like a la página de Facebook la vez pasada, continuemos creciendo esa comunidad de seguidores ya que es la forma más fácil de no perderse de nada del contenido del blog. Por último, les recuerdo que se vistan con estilo y que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz. Nos vemos muy pronto con más moda y estilo.
