Seattle Symphony x Seattle Gents

Hi everyone! Happy March! We’re approaching the first quarter of the year already (unbelievable!) and with it, comes the arrival of spring, the warmer weather, the sunnier days, and the clear skies. These past few days have been quite hectic here in the Pacific Northwest. Just in the last week, we’ve had rain, snow, hail, and thunder here in the Seattle area. There was even a day when we had all four on the same day, can you imagine? This winter has been one of the coldest and wettest that I can remember since I moved here almost 6 years ago. And it seems that summer couldn’t come any faster after such a weird start of the year; I’m ready to start wearing lighter clothes again. We still have a few weeks left of winter though, but I’m excited to see some days when it actually feels warmer and when the sun shines. I can only say that I can’t wait for this warmer spring weather to be more frequent.

The other day, the Seattle Gents and I (it’s been a while since we’ve done something together, right?) were invited to a chill, cultural evening at the Seattle Symphony. It’s amazing how after all these years, this was my first time attending an event of this nature in the beautiful Benaroya Hall. The Gents were treated to a night of wine and Baroque music, and we were also allowed to check out the venue before it got filled up with hundreds of people that were also there to witness the musical show. That also gave us some time to shoot a few photos with our friends from Andrew Parsons Photography and photographer Simon Mendiola. I must say that I had a blast shooting with these guys, it almost felt as if we were at some award show like the Academy Awards or something. All and all, the night went out pretty well and we enjoyed some playing of Bach and Handel by the Seattle Symphony.

For our night at the symphony, I decided to go for a timeless, three-piece combination of a black tux with a black bow tie. I feel that this outfit is so classic and gentleman-y that there’s no way to get it wrong, and it looked incredible under the bright lights of the Benaroya Hall. For the tux, I got it from Zara, which is one of my favorite shops for evening wear and suits. Even though it’s not as expensive as other boutiques like SuitSupply, they really have some jackets and pants that look really good. What I like the most is the fit of these clothes, they tend to fit my body type really well and they are also easily interchangeable to create other looks with the same pieces. For the shoes, I went for my jet black Calvin Klein dress shoes, and the bow tie I’m wearing is from H&M. What do you guys think? Does this look good for a night of culture and music? For that photoshoot, we’ll be collaborating together for the first time this year and that post is going to be full of surprises. I can’t wait to see how the photos turn out! ¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz marzo! Nos aproximamos ya al primer cuarto de este año (¡increíble!) y con ello, se acerca la llegada de la primavera, el clima más cálido, los días soleados y cielos despejados. Estos últimos días han sido todo un caos aquí en el Pacífico Noroeste. Tan sólo en la semana pasada, tuvimos lluvia, nieve, granizo y truenos en el área de Seattle. Inclusive hubo un día en que sucedieron los cuatro fenómenos en el mismo día, ¿pueden creerlo? Este invierno ha sido uno de los más fríos y húmedos que puedo recordar desde que me mudé hace casi ya 6 años. Y parece que el verano no podría llegar más pronto después de un bizarro comienzo del año; ya me vi usando mi ropa de clima cálido una vez más. Aún nos quedan un par de semanas más de este invierno, pero aun así me emocionó cuando el sol brilla. Sólo puedo decir que no puedo esperar a que el clima más cálido y primaveral regrese.

El otro día, los Seattle Gents y yo (ya había pasado un buen tiempo que no nos veíamos, ¿no?) fuimos invitados a una tarde tranquila y cultural en la Sinfónica de Seattle. Es increíble como después de ya tantos años, esta era mi primera vez en un evento de esta naturaleza en el hermoso Benaroya Hall. Los Gents fuimos ofrecidos una noche de vino y música barroca, y además, se nos permitió explorar el recinto antes de que se llenara con cientos de personas que estaban ahí para presenciar el acto musical. Esto también nos dio tiempo para tomar hacer una pequeña sesión fotográfica con nuestros amigos de Andrew Parsons Photography y el fotógrafo Simon Mendiola. Debo admitir que me la pasé muy bien posando con estos compañeros, se sentía como si estuviéramos en una ceremonia de premios como los Óscares o algo parecido. Ya al final, la noche resultó ser todo un éxito y disfrutamos de algo de Bach y Handel por parte de la Sinfónica de Seattle.

Para nuestra noche con la sinfónica, opté por vestir un look atemporal conformado por un traje negro de tres piezas y un moño también en color negro. Siento que este outfit es tan clásico y siempre se ve bien, no hay forma de equivocarse vistiéndolo, y brilló de manera increíble bajo las luces del Benaroya Hall. El traje lo compré en Zara, la cual es una de mis tiendas favoritas para la ropa formal y los trajes. Aunque no es tan cara como otras tiendas estilo SuitSupply, tienen unos sacos y pantalones que se ven muy bien. Y lo que más me gusta de esta ropa es que te quedan a la medida, tienden a llevarse muy bien con mi complexión y también es fácil intercambiar las mismas piezas para hacer looks nuevos. Para los zapatos, me fui por mis zapatos negros de vestir Calvin Klein y el moño que estoy vistiendo es de H&M. ¿Qué opinan ustedes? ¿Creen que esto se ve bien para una noche de cultura y música?
