Hello err’body! I’m writing you back in Seattle after a great week of recruiting in Mexico and a surprise weekend getaway in my hometown of Monterrey. It was great to be with my family and friends for Mexican Independence Day and now, I’m back at blogging in the first official post of the fall. Tomorrow will be the first day of fall, and I for once couldn’t be happier. Today in the morning I noticed that the air was chilly and crisp, the leaves are falling from the trees, and it was dark when I woke up. That also means it’s time to start layering again and that all the trends that we saw in New York Fashion Week are going to start trickling down to our favorite stores. It’s shopping time!
For those of you that follow me on social media, you might remember a photo I posted from Kim’s wedding in front of a flower wall. That flower wall, which was created by Kim and two of her best friends, Chelsey and Mahak, was intended to be a showstopper at the wedding reception. It was such a success though, that the three of them decided to start their own flower wall rental business, and that’s how Wallflower Boutique came to be. Now, people in the Seattle area and in College Station, TX can rent the flower wall for their Instagram-worthy, Pinterest-perfect moments and of course, I jumped out of pure joy when Kim suggested we do a flower wall collaboration for our own blogs. I’m so lucky!
For my flower wall post, I decided to wear a very formal, gentleman-looking combination comprised of a brown tweed blazer from Club Monaco with gray dress pants from Topman. Neutrals rocked the hell out of Fashion Week this year, and they are going to be coming strongly in the blog during this fall season. I paired the neutral combo with a blue striped button-down from Dolce and Gabbana and my favorite Public Opinion gray shoes. For the accessories, I went for a printed floral tie from Topman along with a tie bar, my brown Salvatore Ferragamo leather belt, and my Michael Kors watch. We also shoot a few photos in the perfectly lit, gray stairwell that we love so much but the flower wall really made this outfit shine. What do you guys think? It’s going to be a wrap for today. As I mentioned, more fall outfits are going to be coming to the blog really soon (even though I still have three posts up my sleeve, one from Mexico City, one from Monterrey, and another flower wall photoshoot) so please stay tuned for more fall fashion. I’m also excited for a few collaborations that I have planned till the end of the year, and our very own Seattle Fashion Week is coming in October, so there’s plenty of things to blog about and also plenty of opportunities for dressing up. ¡Hola a todo el mundo! Les escribo nuevamente desde mi ciudad de Seattle después de pasar una gran semana de reclutamiento en México y de una pequeña visita sorpresa de fin de semana en mi natal Monterrey. Estuvo increíble el pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos y el poder celebrar con ellos el día de la Independencia de México y ahora, me encuentro escribiendo el primer post del otoño oficialmente en el blog. Mañana es el primer día de otoño y yo no podría estar más contento. Hoy en la mañana me di cuenta que el aire estaba más fresco y seco, las hojas comienzan a caer de los árboles e inclusive aún estaba oscuro cuando desperté. Eso también significa que ha llegado la hora de empezar a vestir en capas nuevamente y todas las tendencias que vimos en New York Fashion Week van a empezar a permearse en nuestras tiendas favoritas. ¡Es tiempo de ir de compras!
Para aquellos que me siguen en redes sociales, probablemente recuerden una foto que me tomé en la boda de Kim en frente de una pared de flores. Esa pared de flores, que originalmente fue creada por Kim y dos de sus mejores amigas, Chelsey y Mahak, tenía como propósito el ser una atracción principal en la recepción de la boda. Fue tal el éxito de la pared de flores ese día que las tres decidieron emprender su propio negocio de renta de paredes florales, y es así como nació Wallflower Boutique. Ahora, los habitantes del área de Seattle y de College Station, Texas pueden rentar la pared de flores para sus momentos dignos de Instagram y perfectos para Pinterest y, por supuesto que brinqué de alegría cuando Kim sugirió que hicierámos una colaboración con la pared floral para nuestros propios blogs. ¡Soy muy afortunado!
Para mi post en la pared floral, decidí ponerme una combinación muy formal, que cualquier caballero debe tener, de un saco de lana café de Club Monaco con un pantalón de vestir gris de Topman. Los colores neutros dominaron las pasarelas de Fashion Week este año y por ello tendrán una presencia muy fuerte en mi blog durante esta temporada otoñal. Le di vida a este combo de neutros con una camisa de botones en azul claro de Dolce and Gabbana y mis zapatos grises favoritos de Public Opinion. Para los accesorios, me fui por una corbata estampada en flores de Topman con un pisacorbatas, mi cinturón de piel café de Salvatore Ferragamo y mi reloj Michael Kors. También hicimos una sesión de fotos en la escalera gris perfectamente iluminada que tanto adoramos pero la pared de flores realmente hizo que este outfit brillara. ¿Qué opinan ustedes? Con eso cerramos el día de hoy. Como les mencioné, hay más atuendos de otoño que les estaré presentando en el blog muy próximamente (aunque aún me quedan tres posts por mostrarles, uno de la Ciudad de México, uno de Monterrey y otro más en la pared floral) así que manténganse al pendiente para más moda otoñal. También estoy emocionado por un par de colaboraciones más que tengo planeadas antes de que termine el año y nuestro propio Seattle Fashion Week que se aproxima ahora en octubre, así que hay muchas cosas sobre las que escribir y también muchas oportunidades para vestirnos a la moda. Como siempre, les agradezco el haberme leído el día de hoy y les recuerdo que se vistan con estilo y que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz.
