Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re all having the best week yet and that everything is going really well by you. This week, I was inspired by my friend Bailey from Hot Dress, Hot Mess to write a post on the 8 things that you basically can’t live without because 1) they’re your go-to’s when you need to put on a quick outfit or 2) they’re the first thing you grab when traveling. She did a list on her own last week (make sure you check it out), and now, I present you the list of the indispensable 8 items that can’t be missing in my closet:
1. Peacoat
Especially during winter, a peacoat is essential for those cold mornings where you just want to throw something on and leave quickly for work or school. It also looks very classy and will make your outfit truly shine. I got mine from Club Monaco (similar) a few winters ago and it still looks like new.
2. Boat shoes
There’s nothing as useful as a nice pair of boat shoes. My Sperry Topsiders have endured the harsh Seattle weather over the last couple of years and they are my go-to option in almost any season. They come in handy for everyday use and will look good with almost anything.
3. A trench coat
When the weather is still not as cold for the peacoat, the trench coat is my first alternative for outerwear. Mine is from Topman (similar), and even though it’s not rainproof, it gives enough protection to keep me warm, and it will pair well with just some jeans and a button-down.
4. Joggers!
Joggers are both extremely comfortable and they look super cool. They work fabulously with a ton of different outfits and under multiple circumstances, and can be worn almost year-long. My favorite are these burgundy joggers from The Rail at Nordstrom. I actually like these so much that I got them in 3 different colors (burgundy, olive green, and black).
5. Motorcycle jacket
If you want to look like a total badass, the motorcycle jacket is your best friend. It’s distinctive, easy to pair with blue or black denim, and can be worn in those in-between-seasons when it’s so common for the day to start a little bit warmer and then get colder at night. This can’t be missing from your closets. Mine is from 21 Men (similar).
6. Bow tie and suspenders
To give the look of a total gentleman, then a bow tie with a pair of suspenders is really your best choice; it can’t be a miss. You can wear them with a suit, and it will help you show some formality and seriousness, or with a simple shirt and jeans, for a more hipster-ish vibe. Try to get them both with the same pattern, and it will look more cohesive. These are from Asos.
7. The denim shirt
Denim is a very versatile, multipurpose material, and a shirt made out of denim is a jewel in anyone’s wardrobe. It’s easy to pair with other items and will make them look even better. I got mine from J. Crew and it has come to my rescue a lot of times when I don’t know what to wear.
8. Summer shorts
With summer still in place, there’s no doubt that shorts are the easiest way to vary your outfits and to still keep fresh and cool. I have multiple summer shorts, but the ones that I like the most are light-colored ones. They won’t get too hot with the summer sun shining on them, and they will pair with almost any t-shirt. The ones shown here are from Topman.

¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz miércoles! Espero que todos estén teniendo la mejor semana y que a todos les esté yendo muy bien. Esta semana, me inspiró el blog de mi amiga Bailey de Hot Dress, Hot Mess para escribir acerca de las 8 prendas de ropa que no podrían faltar en mi clóset ya que 1) son mis predilectas cuando necesito ponerme algo rápido o 2) son lo primero que empaco cuando salgo de viaje. Ella hizo su propia lista la semana pasada, así que dense una vuelta por su blog, y aquí les presentó la lista de los 8 artículos indispensables que necesito para vivir:
1. Abrigo
Especialmente durante el invierno, el abrigo es esencial para esas mañanas frías en las que sólo te quieres echar algo encima rápido y salir al trabajo o a la escuela. Se ve muy elegante y va a hacer que tu ouftit brille demasiado. Yo compré el mío en Club Mónaco (similar) hace un par de años en invierno y todavía se ve como nuevo.
2. Zapatos de lanchero
No hay nada tán útil como un buen par de zapatos de lanchero (o boat shoes). Mis Sperry Topsiders han aguantado el duro invierno de Seattle en estos últimos años y son mi opción a elegir en casi cualquier temporada. Sirven en el uso diario y se ven bien con cualquier cosa.
3. Una gabardina
Cuando el clima aún no está lo suficientemente frío como para ponerte un abrigo, la gabardina es mi primera alternativa para ponerme como capa exterior. La mía es de Topman (similar), y aunque no es a prueba de lluvia, me protege lo suficiente y se ve increíble con un par de pantalones de mezclilla y una camisa de botones.
4. ¡Joggers!
Los joggers son súper comodos y se ven súper cool. Funcionan en un número incontable de outfits y de circunstancias, y se pueden utilizar en casi todo el año. Mis favoritos son este par de joggers en color vino de The Rail at Nordstrom. Me gusta tanto esta marca que de hecho tengo estos pantalones en tres colores diferentes (vino, verde olivo y negro).
5. Chamarra de motociclista
Si quieres verte como todo un badass, la chamarra de motociclista es tu mejor amiga. Es muy distintiva, fácil de combinar con mezclilla en color azul o negro, y se puede utilizar en esos entre tiempos cuando es común que el día comienza un poco más cálido pero se pone fresco en la noche. La mía es de 21 Men (similar).
6. Moño y tirantes
Para verte como todo un caballero, la combinación de moño con tirantes nunca falla. Se pueden usar con un traje y te vas a ver muy formal y elegante o, simplemente si los usas con una camisa y pantalones de mezclilla, te vas a ver más hipster. Trata de conseguirlos en el mismo patrón y así el look tendrá más cohesión. Estos son de Asos.
7. La camisa de mezclilla
La mezclilla es un material muy versátil y multiusos y, una camisa hecha de mezclilla es una verdadera joya en el guardarropa de cualquier persona. Es fácil de combinar con otras prendas y las hace ver todavía mejor. Yo conseguí la mía en J. Crew y ha salido al rescate por mí muchas veces.
8. Shorts de verano
Con el verano todavía en su curso, no hay duda que los shorts son la forma más sencilla de variar nuestro outfit y de seguir sintiéndote fresco y cool. Tengo muchos shorts de verano, pero los que más me gustan son este par de shorts claros. No se ponen tan calientes con el sol y, además, se ven bien con casi cualquier camisa o camiseta. Estos los compré en Topman.
