Hello my friends! Happy Wednesday! Another month goes by, as we turn the page to August and start heading closer to the fall season. Summer has fully kicked in here in the Pacific Northwest. Blue skies and warmer temperatures have become the norm lately, and the weather has been perfect these past few days, especially for outdoor activities. One thing that I really like about Seattle is how everyone seems to be so active in the summer. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking on the lakes, skydiving or paragliding, or just strolling by the park, there’s definitely an outdoor activity that you can find of interest and that you can do in many areas of Washington State. It’s a really cool advantage over most of the country which sizzles during the summer months, making Seattle, in my opinion, one of the best cities for spending the summer in.
The other day I was walking by one of our gorgeous Washington State parks right by Lake Sammamish and was drawn by all the different activities happening there. Some people were having a picnic, some others were driving their motor boat while a few others were riding a banana behind, and some others were simply playing volleyball at the sand courts while enjoying the sun. You always need to be prepared for any outdoor situation here in the Pacific Northwest, and that’s why being able to change from one environment to another is crucial in this rapid-changing, beautiful weather.
For this post, I decided to wear a very comfortable, easy on the eyes but also versatile combination of button-down and summer shorts. The shirt I’m wearing is a gingham-patterned long-sleeve shirt from Abercrombie and Fitch, along with some olive green shorts from Club Monaco. This shirt feels very fresh and lets your body breathe really well on those hot, summer days. The olive green shorts come in one of this season’s favorites, and a leather belt and watch complete the whole look. Finally, for the shoes I decided to go with my Creative Recs, which have endured season after season and still look as new as they could be. What do you think of my hanging-by-the-park outfit? As I told you, I’m going to start posting every week once again (starting next week) given that now I’ll have more time for myself (we released a new version of Windows this week and the interns are leaving next weekend). It’s sad to think that summer is coming to an end, but I had an amazing time with them and I’m excited about new projects and opportunities at work that come after such a large release. I’m also getting ready for my vacation time this month, which is going to be epic, and of course, my birthday is coming in a bit more than 3 weeks. I’ll leave you for now, not without reminding you all to be stylish and to let your voice be heard. See you soon with more fashion posts, till the next one!
¡Hola amigos míos! ¡Feliz miércoles! Un mes más se nos ha ido y así, volteamos la página al mes de agosto y nos acercamos a la temporada de otoño. El verano está en su punto máximo ahorita aquí en el Pacífico Noroeste. Cielos azules y temperaturas más calidas se han convertido en la norma día con día y el clima ha estado perfecto estos últimos días, en especial para realizar actividades al aire libre. Ya sea ir de hiking, hacer kayaking en los lagos, saltar en paracáidas o planeador, o simplemente caminar por el parque, definitivamente hay una actividad del exterior que puedes encontrar de tu interés y que puedes hacer en muchas áreas del estado de Washington. Es una gran ventaja sobre el resto del país que en estos momentos se encuentra sufriendo de las extremas temperaturas de los meses veraniegos, haciendo de Seattle, en mi opinión, una de las mejores ciudades para pasar el verano.
El otro día me encontraba caminando por uno de nuestros hermosos parques del estado de Washington justo al lado de Lake Sammamish y me llamó bastante la atención la cantidad de actividades tan diferentes que estaban teniendo lugar ahí mismo. Algunos se encontraban disfrutando de un picnic, mientras otros manejaban su bote de motor mientras arrastraban una banana con más personas arriba de ella y otros simplemente se divertían jugando voleyball en las canchas de arena, absorbiendo los rayos del sol. Uno necesita estar completamente preparado para cualquier situación al exterior aquí en el Pacífico Noroeste y es por ello que poder adaptarse de un ambiente a otro es crucial en este bello clima qué cambia sin aviso alguno.
Para este post decidí vestir un conjunto muy cómodo, que además se ve bastante bien y es muy versátil, conformado por una camisa de botones y shorts de verano. La camisa que estoy vistiendo es una camisa con patrón de cuadros, en manga larga, de Abercrombie and Fitch y los shorts que visto son unos shorts color verde olivo de Club Monaco. Esta camisa se siente extremadamente fresca y deja que tu cuerpo transpire muy bien en esos días calurosos en verano. Los shorts en color verde son uno de los colores predilectos de la temporada y el cinto en piel café y el reloj complementan el look completo. Finalmente, para los zapatos decidí utilizar mis Creative Recs, los cuáles temporada tras temporada siguen viéndose tan nuevos como siempre. ¿Qué opinan de mi outfit para pasar el día en el parque? ¿Les gusta la combinación de colores? Eso va a ser todo por hoy. Como les venía platicando la vez pasada, voy a empezar a escribir en mi blog una vez por semana de nuevo (empezando desde la siguiente semana) dado que ya tendré más tiempo para mí (acabamos de lanzar una nueva versión de Windows hace unos días y los interns se van el fin de semana). Es triste pensar que el verano está llegando a su fin, pero me la pasé increíble con ellos y estoy muy emocionado por los nuevos proyectos y oportunidades en el trabajo que se presentarán después de un lanzamiento tan importante. También ya me estoy preparando para mis vacaciones de este mes, las cuales serán de proporciones épicas, y por supuesto, mi cumpleaños que se aproxima ya y es en poco más de tres semanas. Los dejo por ahora no sin antes recordarles que se vistan con su propio estilo y que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz. Nos vemos pronto con más posts de moda, ¡hasta la próxima vez!
