Runyon Canyon

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! Today I’m super excited because in just two days I’ll be traveling with my friends to Southern California to experience the Coachella Music Festival for fourth year in a row. If you didn’t check it out last time, here’s my post from last year with all my outfits and some photos of the artists that we saw last time we attended. This year I’m really stoked because once again, the lineup is going to be nothing short of amazing. Some of the artists that I’m most thrilled about seeing live are M83, Of Monsters and Men, Disclosure, CHVRCHES, James Bay, Major Lazer, the Chainsmokers, Halsey, and of course, Calvin Harris and wait for it, SIA! These are just a few of the acts, but besides that I’m also really excited about spending some time off in the warm weather of Palm Springs and of course, of showcasing my Coachella fashion for this year, which you can’t miss in an upcoming post.

The photos I’m sharing with you today are from my last trip to the city of Angels in early January, when I was coming back from Mexico and I did a short stop to hang out with my friend Sergio. During this short visit, we visited one of the most iconic trails in LA, Runyon Canyon, which I haven’t been able to check out in more than 10 or so trips I’ve done to the California metropolis. I was really missing out on this one, since even though the hike is short and rather busy any time of year, what I really enjoyed about this natural wonder was the view it offers of the underlying city of Los Angeles and the beautiful California sunset. We got there just in time (sometime around 4:30 PM) to see the whole process of the sun setting down, bathing LA with a magnificent glow and the weather was perfect to see a picturesque coastal sunset.

For hiking the Runyon Canyon I decided to wear a quintessential California look, comprised of a plaid blue shirt along with Ray-Bans and a California flag snap-back (thanks Sergio for taking the pics and for lending me your hat!) You can’t see it from the pics, but I was also wearing running shorts since it was really warm, and my pair of sneakers which I use when hiking even here in Seattle. What do you think? Do you like this SoCal look? I can’t believe it took me so long to visit this so-well-known attraction of the city, but I’m glad I was able to do so in such perfect weather. Some of the pics here are just breathtaking.

¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz miércoles! Me encuentro muy emocionado ya que en tan sólo dos días estaré en camino al sur de California con mis amigos para disfrutar por tercer año consecutivo del festival de música de Coachella. Si no tuvieron la oportunidad de leerlo la última vez, aquí les comparto una vez más mi post del año pasado con todos los outfits y fotos de algunos de los artistas que vimos la vez pasada. Este año estoy ansioso por el festival ya que una vez más el lineup se ve increíble. Algunos de los artistas que más deseo ver en vivo son M83, Of Monsters and Men, Disclosure, CHVRCHES, James Bay, Major Lazer, the Chainsmokers, Halsey, y por supuesto, Calvin Harris y ¡nadie más ni menos que… SIA! Estos son tan sólo algunos de los actos que veremos, pero además de la música también estoy muy emocionado por pasar unas divertidas vacaciones en el cálido clima de Palm Springs, y por supuesto, de mostrarles mis diferentes outfits para Coachella este año, los cuales no se pueden perder en un post que está por venir muy pronto.

Las fotografías que les comparto el día de hoy son precisamente de mi última visita a la ciudad de los Ángeles a principios de enero, cuando venía de regreso de México e hice una pequeña escala para saludar a mi amigo Sergio. Durante esta corta visita, visitamos uno de los lugares más icónicos de LA, Runyon Canyon, el cual no había tenido oportunidad de conocer en más de 10 viajes que he hecho a la metrópolis californiana. Realmente me estaba perdiendo de un verdadero espectáculo, ya que aunque el camino es corto y hay muchos turistas en cualquier parte del año, lo que en verdad disfruté de esta belleza natural era la vista que ofrecía de la ciudad de los Ángeles a lo lejos y del hermoso atardecer de California. Llegamos justo a tiempo (por ahí de las 4:30 PM) para ver el proceso entero del sol poniéndose en el horizonte, bañando a LA con un brillo magnífico y el clima estuvo ideal para ver un pintoresco atardecer en la costa.

Para escalar Runyon Canyon decidí vestir el look que no puede faltar de California, el cual consiste en una camisa de cuadros azul con unos lentes Ray-Ban y una gorra con la bandera de California (gracias Sergio por tomar estas fotografías y por prestarme tu gorra). No se alcanzan a ver en estas fotos, pero también vestía unos shorts para correr ya que hacía algo de calor y mi par de tennis que utilizo para hacer ejercicio aún aquí en Seattle. ¿Así que qué opinan? ¿Les agrada este look inspirado en el sur de California? No puedo creer que me haya tomado tanto tiempo visitar esta gran atracción de la ciudad, pero estoy contento de que me haya tocado un clima estupendo para hacerlo. Algunas de estas fotos lo dejan a uno sin aliento.

Como les comentaba anteriormente, este fin de semana viajaré a Los Ángeles y les traeré algunos de los atuendos más interesantes que he probado últimamente, ya que Coachella es ese lugar donde puedes vestir casi lo que sea y la gente aún lo tomará como algo aceptable y en ocasiones hasta vanguardista. La siguiente semana planeo ir al festival de los tulipanes (antes de que corten las flores) así que esperen un post muy florido y colorido muy pronto durante la próxima semana. Como siempre, recuerden vestirse con estilo y dejar que los demás escuchen su voz. Nos vemos muy pronto con más moda y con más tips para sus viajes. ¡Hasta la próxima!
