Hi there! How is everyone’s week shaping up? Things here in Seattle have been perfectly smooth these past few days. Spring has kicked in heavily, with temps soaring to the 60s and even 70s later this week in the PNW. That is amazing, especially after a pretty long winter which was actually the wettest winter in Seattle, ever. Let that sink in people, it already rains A LOT here in the Emerald City on a regular winter season, but this year’s winter was the wettest since records have started. Now however, the blue skies and sunny weather have started to peek in little by little, and I for sure couldn’t be happier about this transition. It is with this warmer weather that we transition to cardigans and sweaters again instead of heavy coats and jackets, lighter pants and warmer colors as we approach the summer season.
Today I want to share with you another very special entry of the His and Hers series, which has turned out to be an utmost success since Kim from HelloKimWin and I started it a few months ago. We are also welcomed this time again by the wonderful Nini from Nerdly Beautiful, who graced our last post with her colorful attitude. Nini, Kim and I decided to meet for an early-bird photoshoot in downtown Redmond a few days ago, before each one of us headed to our daily jobs. It was really nice to see these beautiful ladies and get to have a healthy breakfast/brunch before going to work, and it was a good opportunity to take some photos at one of the newest, coolest places in RTC, Homegrown.
As the Southern bombshell that she is (I know she’s from the PNW, but she definitely portrays this Southern girl vibe with a lot of her looks) Kim here is delighting us with a beautiful ensemble of a white, laced dress with knee-high leather boots. She paired these two up with a faux-fur vest, which is really coming in next season, and she let her honey-toned, long gorgeous hair flow graciously over her shoulders. Yas Kim, you’re killing us with this look! Then we have Nini’s look, which is also really suitable for spring, consisting of a white turtle-neck sweater from ASOS with some boyfriend jeans by H&M and Converse sneakers. Nini styled this outfit with a radiant statement necklace and a cape with a black hat. We’re totally feeling a tourist vibe here, which next to the brick and wooden walls of the restaurant made it feel more like if we were somewhere in Southern Europe rather than downtown Redmond.
As for myself, I decided to go for a very preppy look of varsity jock cardigan from Abercrombie and Fitch and white pants (which are really in this spring season even though it’s technically after Labor Day). I paired these up with my favorite blue gingham button down from J. Crew and my Creative Recs just to get that frat signature look. I really like this combination because it’s timeless, and it has a very easy-to-put-together feel to it. What do you think about it? This week, I’ll be going to a preview of the YaJoe spring and summer collection, and I’m excited because I already got a pair to try out on the mail and they are amazing; will share more of that with you soon. I’m also really happy because we’re just 2 weeks away from Coachella, and I’ll be going with some of my best friends to have a great time, which also means, that we need to do some shopping before to prepare. ¡Hola a todos! ¿Cómo van con su semana? Las cosas aquí en Seattle han estado perfectas en estos últimos días. La primavera ha llegado de lleno, con las temperaturas volando entre los 15 e inclusive 20 grados más tarde esta semana en el Pacífico Noroeste. Eso es lo máximo, especialmente después de un largo invierno, el cual también fue el invierno más húmedo de todos los tiempos en Seattle. Digiramos esto, ya es bastante la lluvia que recibe la Ciudad Esmeralda en una temporada invernal común y corriente, pero la de este año es la que más lluvia nos ha traído desde que se mantienen registros. Ahora, sin embargo, los cielos azulados y el clima soleado empiezan poco a poco a ser más frecuentes, y yo no podría estar más feliz por esta transición. Es con este clima más cálido que transicionamos a cárdigans y suéteres de nuevo en vez de chamarras gruesas y abrigos, y pantalones más ligeros y tonos más cálidos conforme se acerca el verano.
Hoy quiero compartirles una vez más un post muy especial en la serie de El y Ella, la cual se ha convertido en un éxito rotundo desde que Kim de HelloKimWin y yo la inauguramos hace apenas unos meses atrás. Una vez más nos acompaña en esta ocasión la sorprendente Nini de Nerdly Beautiful, quien dio vida a nuestro post la semana pasada con su actitud muy colorida. Nini, Kim y yo decidimos juntarnos para hacer una sesión de fotos muy temprano en el centro de Redmond hace algunos días, antes de que cada uno de nosotros fuera a su trabajo diario. Me encantó poder ver a estas dos hermosas amigas y haber tomado un delicioso y nutritivo desayuno antes de irme a trabajar, y fue una excelente oportunidad para tomar fotos en uno de los lugares más nuevos y hip de RTC, Homegrown.
Como la belleza sureña que es (lo sé, ella es del Pacífico Noroeste pero definitivamente nos da una vibra sureña en muchos de sus looks) Kim nos deleita con un hermoso conjunto hecho por un vestido blanco de encaje y sus botas altas de piel. Ella combinó estos dos con un chaleco de peluche sintético, los cuáles serán muy populares en esta temporada, y dejó que su cabello en tono amielado cayera con gracia sobre sus hombros. ¡Eso es todo Kim, nos estás matando con este look! Por otro lado, tenemos a Nini, quien también vestida muy apropiadamente para la temporada de primavera, nos muestra un suéter blanco de cuello de tortuga de ASOS con unos pantalones de mezclilla estilo novio de H&M y sus tennis Converse. Nini estilizó este outfit con un radiante collar y una capa con un sombrero negro. Estamos sintiendo una vibra de turista completamente aquí, lo cual junto a las paredes del restaurante en ladrillo y madera nos da el sentimiento como de si estuviéramos en algún lugar del sur de Europa en vez del centro de Redmond.
Por mi parte, decidí vestirme de una manera muy preppy combinando un cardigan estilo universitario de Abercrombie and Fitch con pantalones blancos (los cuáles están muy de moda esta temporada aunque técnicamente es después de Labor Day). Me puse este suéter sobre mi camisa de cuadros azul predilecta de J. Crew y mis zapatos Creative Recs sólo para lograr ese look insignia de los universitarios. Realmente me fascina esta combinación ya que no está asignada a ninguna época y se siente muy casual y fácil de conjuntar. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? ¿Les gusta este look para por ejemplo ir a comer brunch con sus mejores amigos? Muchas de estas fotos las tomó Kim, excepto en las que ella sale, las cuales yo tomé. Eso va a ser todo por hoy. No puedo esperar porque Kim regrese de sus viajes para tomar mas fotos con ella y Nini; nos queda todavía una sesión de fotos que ya es tradición por tomar para nuestros blogs (no diré cuál pero creo que ya saben a que me refiero). Esta semana, estaré participando en el preview de la nueva temporada primavera-verano de YaJoe, y estoy muy emocionado puesto que ya me mandaron mi primer par por correo y están increíbles; les compartiré más sobre esto muy pronto. También estoy muy contento porque en tan sólo 2 semanas estaré yendo a Coachella con varios de mis mejores amigos, y eso también significa que tenemos que ir de shopping muy pronto para prepararnos.
