California Fly

Ahhh California, guys! I can’t lie, I’m starting to miss the sun and the warmer weather, but I’m also glad to be back in Seattle with my friends. Valentine’s Day and President’s Day weekend was fantastic! That reminds me that I also wanted to thank you all for your great response to my last post! Kim and I will be doing our His & Hers photoshoots way more often this year, so expect lots of photos to come in the nearby future (one of those might include a very funny, silly one we did at Disneyland while in SoCal, so you can’t miss it!) It’s become one of my favorite series so far especially because we coordinate really well without even much planning beforehand. That’s just how much in sync we are!

Today on the blog I bring you another outfit shoot I did with my blogger BFF Kim, from HelloKimWin, during our LA trip, in the beautiful lobby of the hotel we were staying at, the Le Meridien Delfina Hotel in Santa Monica. This is actually the look I decided to fly with, because it was a bit colder in Seattle when we left on Sunday morning, and it usually gets cold in the airplane as well. That’s why the best way to fly in my opinion is by using removable layers. When we arrived to LAX, it wasn’t as cold as in Seattle, although it was extremely windy and breezy that day. This arrangement worked perfectly for me since it protected me from the wind and rain but it wasn’t too much to feel extremely bulky, especially in the 60-degree weather. Southern Californians are so blessed to have this weather in the middle of winter though!

For my flight to Los Angeles, I decided to wear a brown motorcycle jacket which I got during the Black Friday sales in 21 Men. I love how trendy it looks and how all the details and zippers come together to actually give the feeling of real leather (which it totally isn’t guys, faux leather FTW). Underneath the jacket I layered a military green shirt with an oversized sweatshirt below, because who said that the shirt should go under the sweatshirt and not the other way around? I paired these items with my black skinny jeans from Topman and finally wore a skull necklace from H&M to give it a nice, à la Alexander McQueen touch. And for the shoes I went with leather as well since it was raining that day. What do you think of this outfit? Do you like how I played with lengths and details here? I’ll be popping up at some of the events, hopefully will get to meet someone important as well. And of course I’m going to be blogging parts of it, so you can’t miss it. ¡Ohhh California chicos! No puedo mentirles, empiezo a extrañar el sol y el clima cálido, pero también me siento contento de estar de regreso en Seattle con mis amigos. ¡El fin de semana de San Valentín y el Día del Presidente fue fantástico! Eso me recuerda que quería agradecerles a todos por el gran recibimiento que tuvo el último post. Kim y yo estaremos haciendo nuestras sesiones de Él y Ella mucho más seguido este año, así que esperen más fotografías por venir en el futuro próximo (una de estas puede incluir una sesión muy divertida y cómica que hicimos en Disneylandia mientras estábamos en el sur de California, ¡así que no pueden perdérsela!) Se está convirtiendo ya en una de mis series favoritas especialmente porque nos coordinamos muy bien sin tener que planear demasiado por adelantado. ¡Tan sincronizados estamos todo el tiempo!

El día de hoy en el blog les traigo otro outfit que fotografié con mi mejor amiga blogger Kim, de HelloKimWin, durante nuestro viaje a LA en el hermoso lobby del hotel donde nos hospedamos, el Hotel Le Meridien Delfina en Santa Mónica. Este es, de hecho, el look con el que decidí volar dado que cuando salimos de Seattle el domingo por la mañana hacía un poco de frío, y usualmente se pone muy frío en el avión también. Es por eso que opino que la mejor forma de viajar es utilizar capas que se puedan remover. Cuando llegamos a LAX, no hacía tanto frío como en Seattle, pero hacía mucho viento y se sentía una brisa ese día. Este conjunto funcionó a la perfecciónpara protegerme del viento y la lluvia y no fue demasiado como para sentirme muy abultado, especialmente en el clima de 15 grados. ¡Aún así, los habitantes del sur de California son muy afortunados en tener este clima a mitad del invierno!

Para mi vuelo a Los Ángeles, decidí ponerme esta chamarra de motociclista café que conseguí en rebaja durante Black Friday en 21 Men. Me encanta lo moderna que se ve y como todos los detalles y zipers ayudan a que la chamarra se vea como piel auténtica (y sin embargo es piel sintética, lo cual es lo mejor). Debajo de la chaqueta me puse una camisa militar color verde con una sudadera larga abajo, ya que, ¿quién dijo que la sudadera iba sobre la camisa y no de la otra manera? Emparejé estos elementos con mis pantalones de mezclilla skinny negros de Topman y finalmente complementé todo con un collar de calavera que compré en H&M para darle un toque muy a la Alexander McQueen. Y para los zapatos me fui por piel también ya que estaba lloviendo ese día. ¿Qué opinan de este outfit? ¿Les gusta como jugué con las diferentes capas y longitudes en este look? Por supuesto quiero agradercerle a Kim por las fotos, ¡están geniales!

Eso lo hará por el día de hoy amigos. Espero que este post haya sido de su total agrado y recuerden mantenerse al pendiente para ver más fotografías del mejor viaje de reclutamiento de la historia en las siguientes semanas. Este jueves iré a un evento de networking de la industria de la moda en Seattle, el cual sucede a unos cuantos días de que comience Seattle Fashion Week a principios del mes siguiente. Va a haber muchos eventos relacionados con esto, pero si hay algo por lo que estoy muy emocionado es por ver la ropa que viste la gente en las calles durante esa semana. Estaré asistiendo a algunos de los eventos, esperando conocer a alguien importante también. Y por supuesto voy a estar bloggeando al respecto, así que no se lo pueden perder.
