Hi everyone!! Happy Wednesday! I hope that you all are having the best week yet, and that fall has finally settled in with everyone. It’s pumpkin spice latte season, y’all! Today I have very good news for you. This past Friday, I was profiled on the Fibonacci Sequins blog, which was created by the one and only Dona Sarkar and the amazing photographer Beth Crane, as a platform to engage students and engineers into fashion and the STEM fields. That’s right! They profile students and young professionals to show everyone how amazing and fabulous the tech world can be, and you can find this post right here. I want to personally thank Dona and Beth for allowing me to share my stories and experiences through their blog. This has been an incredible experience and the photos we took and moments we shared were precious. Thank you, thank you, THANK you for everything!
That brings me to today’s post, which is actually also related to Dona. Dona is a rockstar manager at Microsoft and she works in the HoloLens team along with Beth. She’s wonderful at what she does (I mean, they wrote an article about her in Cosmo magazine!) and she knows a lot of people in the industry. Well it happens to be that she also knows A LOT of fashion bloggers who work at Microsoft, so she came up with the idea of starting a group with these people. We called it the Seattle Fashion Bloggers Who Tech community, and our first meeting was just 2 weeks ago at a very nice restaurant in Downtown Bellevue. It was wonderful meeting with so many creative minds at the same time. I mean, look at how everyone was dressed up for the occasion; the energy in the room was amazing. Each person had such a unique story of how they started blogging and how they got into tech and fashion. A few of them have actually been doing this for a couple of years already so they shared their knowledge with the not-so-experienced-bloggers like me. I left that glam-lunch full of creative thoughts and totally revitalized. I really felt that I belong to this group and I’m looking forward to the things we will do in the future (collaborations, fashion events, symposiums, the sky is the limit!) To meet these beautiful people my outfit had to be on point. I mean, I’m the only male fashion blogger currently in the group, so I had to represent the Seattle menswear community. I decided to go with a very casual, yet classy combination of a patterned button-down, with a patterned knit tie, and a black cardigan. To avoid looking super formal, I paired these with my beige joggers from Topman and since it’s getting colder I put on my gray pocketed coat from last year sale at H&M. To finish the look, I went for my old-fashioned Aldo shoes with a vintage finish to them. What do you guys think? I’m really happy that I was able to meet with so many beautiful, smart women and can we please take a sec to just admire how awesome they look together? I mean, there’s so many trends here: olive tones, knit sweaters with bodycon dresses, long-draped coats and long shirts, blanket scarves, knee-high boots and flowers, and more. And thanks to my boo Kim Nguyen for taking these pictures! They rock just like you!

Realmente espero que todos estén teniendo la mejor de las semanas hasta ahorita, y que ya se hayan acostumbrado al otoño. ¡Que siga la temporada de pumpkin spice lattes! Hoy les tengo muy buenas noticias. El pasado viernes, salió un artículo sobre mí en el blo de Fibonacci Sequins, el cual fue creado ni más ni menos que por Dona Sarkar y la excelente fotógrafa Beth Crane, como una plataforma para atraer estudiantes e ingenieros a la moda y las carreras de ingeniería. ¡Así es! Perfilan a alumnos y a jóvenes profesionistas para enseñarle al mundo lo atractivo que puede ser el mundo de la tecnología, y pueden encontrar ese post justo aquí. Quisiera agradecer personalmente a Dona y a Beth por permitirme utilizar esa plataforma para compartir mi historia a través de su blog. Esta ha sido una experiencia increíble y las fotos que tomamos y los momentos que compartimos al preparar el post los aprecio bastante. ¡Gracias, gracias, GRACIAS por todo!
Eso me lleva al post del día de hoy, el cual también está relacionado con Dona. Dona es una manager estrella en Microsoft y trabaja en el equipo de HoloLens junto con Beth. Es buenísima en lo que hace (no cualquiera aparece en un artículo en la revista Cosmo como ella) y conoce a muchísima gente en la industria. Sucede también que conoce a bastantes bloggers de moda dentro de Microsoft, así que se le ocurrió la idea de empezar un grupo con estas personas. La llamamos la Seattle Fashion Bloggers Who Tech community, y nuestra primera reunión tomó lugar hace apenas dos semanas en un fino restaurante del centro de Bellevue. Fue asombroso reunirme con tantas mentes creativas en el mismo lugar. Digo, tan solo basta con ver lo bien que todos iban vestidos para la ocasión; la energía en el cuarto era impresionante. Todos tenían su propia historia de como empezaron su blog y de como se hallaron entre la moda y la tecnología. Algunos llevan ya varios años desde que empezaron y compartieron su conocimiento con los que todavía no somos tan experimentados como yo. Después del glam-lunch me sentí lleno de ideas creativas y totalmente revigorizado. Realmente sentí que pertenezco a este grupo y estoy emocionado por ver las cosas que haremos en un futuro (piénsenlo, colaboraciones, eventos de moda, simposios, no hay límite). Para reunirme con estas bellas personas mi outfit tenía que estar a la par. Digo, si soy el único hombre del grupo debía representar con orgullo a la comunidad de ropa masculina. Decidí irme por una combinación casual y clásica, una camisa de cuadritos, junto con una corbata de estambre y un cárdigan negro. Para evitar verme demasiado formal, opté por ponerme mis joggers color beige de Topman y dado que estaba algo fresco me puse mi abrigo de la temporada pasada de H&M. Para completar el look, me puse mis zapatos estilo clásico con un toque vintage de Aldo. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? Estoy muy contento de haberme podido reunir con tantas bellas e inteligentes mujeres así que, ¿podemos por favor tomar un segundo para admirar lo increíble que se veían juntas? Hay demasiadas tendencias que están súper in en estos outfits: tonos color olivo, suéteres tejidos con vestidos entallados, abrigos y blusas largas, blanket scarves, botas a la rodilla y flores, entre muchas más. Y muchísimas gracias a mi amiga Kim Nguyen por tomar estas fotos. ¡Son lo máximo al igual que tú!
Eso es todo por hoy chicos. Estoy muy feliz por ver qué sigue por hacer con el grupo de Fashion Bloggers Who Tech y no puedo esperar por volvernos a reunir para ir a comer, hablar de moda y tomarnos selfies. La próxima semana les mostraré una sesión de fotos muy especial que hice con Kim en una locación un tanto inusual mientras paseábamos por el campus el otro día. ¡No se la pueden perder! Además la próxima semana viajaré a México para la boda de un buen amigo mío, así que tienen que ver por aquí cómo me vestiré para la boda. Y OMG acabo de darme cuenta que ya mero es Halloween y tengo que pensar como me voy a vestir este año, ya que el disfraz del año pasado fue todo un éxito. Estoy seguro que algo bueno se me ocurrirá, y también serán los primeros en ver mi disfraz aquí en el blog. Recuerden vestirse con estilo y dejar que los demás escuchen su voz.
