It’s Banana!

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! Before I delve into today’s post with more detail, I want to sincerely thank each and everyone of you for your response to my last post. That collaboration with Roxxlyn really took a lot of effort, time, and coordination to put together and I’m more than pleased with the results. Your response was incredible, the brand was super extra happy with the post and the photos and the reaction were also great. I hope that you also enjoyed the discount by the way, those are some really nice products and if yours are on their way I can assure you, you won’t regret that purchase. Hopefully with that response in my portfolio I can get to do more collaborations with other brands in the future, so thanks again for being such an amazing readership and being great followers.

Today on the blog, I want to talk about another collaboration that I did just a few weeks ago, with our friends from Banana Republic. They contacted me about 3 weeks ago and basically told me that they wanted to give me a preview of their new Rapid Movement chinos collection. Not only had I the opportunity of going to the store and see them in advance, but I was given total freedom to style a complete look around the chinos that I chose. Then we did a small photoshoot in downtown Seattle, very close to the Banana Republic famous flagship store. A few days later, they invited me along with other folks from the Seattle Gents to have some drinks and appetizers in that same downtown location. Overall I had an amazing time with the folks that work at the store and in the end I was able to keep the chinos from the photoshoot for myself. What a great addition to my pants collection!

For my collaboration with Banana Republic, I decided to style a look around the burgundy Aiden slim Rapid Movement chinos, since 1) I really like the boldness of the color, and 2) I wanted the chinos to fit well and slim fit tends to work the best for me. For the shirt, I went with a floral print button-down which had caught my eye since the moment that I entered the store, and I tried out two outer layers to show how easily it is to tone up or tone down the look. First, with the navy blue quilted vest, you can see how casual and relaxed this summer look can play out. For the second look, I turned up the volume a bit by pairing it with a baby blue blazer, and it made the whole outfit way more elegant and formal. For the shoes, I went with white sneakers and for the accessories an Italian leather belt and sunglasses did the work, all of them from Banana Republic. What do you think? Isn’t this perfect for our ever-changing summer weather here in Seattle? I want to thank Scotty Flores for taking these photos and everyone at the Banana Republic downtown Seattle location for helping me out with the fitting and styling for this shoot, and for hosting the Seattle Gents for a nice time together at the store.

And in that time frame I have two more fashion events, a collaboration in store, and I still have to show you how everything went a the Seattle Polo Party last weekend, which you may have seen on social media. So busy times ahead but also lots of fun stuff going on both in my personal life and on the blog, so you need to keep posted to the blog and social media for not missing any of it. ¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz mitad de semana! Antes de adentrarme en el post de hoy con mayor detalle, quisiera agradecerles sinceramente a todos y cada uno de ustedes por su respuesta a mi último post. Esa colaboración con Roxxlyn realmente tomó mucho esfuerzo, tiempo y coordinación para poder llevarse acabo y estoy más que satisfecho con los resultados. Su recepción fue increíble, la marca también quedó muy contenta con el post y con las fotos y la reacción fue muy buena. Espero que hayan disfrutado del descuento, por cierto, ya que son productos de muy buena calidad y si los suyos ya vienen en camino, les aseguro que no se arrepentirán de esa compra. Espero que con esa respuesta en mi portafolio pueda hacer más colaboraciones con otras marcas en un futuro, así que muchas gracias de nuevo por ser tan excelente audiencia y buenos followers.

Hoy en el blog, quisiera platicarles acerca de otra colaboración que hice hace un par de semanas con nuestros amigos de Banana Republic. Me contactaron alrededor de tres semanas atrás y básicamente me dijeron que querían enseñarme un preview de su nueva colección de chinos Rapid Movement. No sólo me iban a dar la oportunidad de ir a la tienda y verlos por adelantado, sino que me iban a dar también libertad total para crear un look inspirado en los chinos que yo eligiera. Después, hicimos un pequeño photoshoot en el centro de Seattle, muy cerca de la famosa tienda insignia de Banana Republic que está en downtown. Unos días más tarde, me invitaron junto con otros amigos de los Seattle Gents a probar bebidas y comer bocadillos en la misma locación de downtown. En general me la pasé increíble con la gente que trabaja en la tienda y al final me permitieron quedarme con los chinos que me probé para la sesión de fotos. ¡Una excelente prenda para añadir a mi colección de pantalones!

Para mi colaboración con Banana Republic, decidí armar un look alrededor de los pantalones color vino de tipo slim Rapid Movement ya que 1) me gusta mucho ese color y 2) necesitaba que los chinos fueran más ajustados porque es lo que se me suele ver mejor. Para la camisa, me fui por una camisa de estampado floral de botones que llamó mi atención desde el momento en que entré a la tienda y, para la capa exterior, quería demostrar lo fácil que es subir un poquito más el nivel de formalidad o bajarlo con una sola prenda. Primero, me puse un chaleco color azul marino, con el cual pueden ver lo casual e informal que este look puede verse en el verano. Para el segundo, quise subir el volumen on poquito al combinarlos con un saco color azul cielo, y esto hizo que el outfit se viera mucho más elegante y formal. En cuanto al calzado, opté por ponerme unos tennis blancos y para los accesorios un cinto café claro de piel italiana y unos lentes, todos de Banana Republic. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? ¿A poco no está perfecta esta combinación para este clima veraniego tan cambiante que tenemos aquí en Seattle? Quisiera agradecer a Scotty Flores por tomar estas fotografías y a todos los que trabajan en la tienda de Banana Republic en Seattle por ayudarme a probarme la ropa y elegir las prendas para esta sesión, además de agradecerles por hospedar a los Seattle Gents en una tarde super agradable en la tienda.

En cuanto a mí, seguiré estando muy ocupado en las siguientes semanas pero estoy muy emocionado de lo que me depara el futuro. Este fue mi último post en la década de los 20s y, me celebraré junto con mis amigos de Seattle este fin de semana (podrán ver fotos de la fiesta muy pronto). Después estaré viajando a México para hacer reclutamiento toda la próxima semana, lo cual me dará la oportunidad de pasar el mero día de mi cumpleaños número 30 junto a mis mejores amigos de la infancia y mi familia en Monterrey. Y durante ese período tengo dos eventos de moda más, una colaboración que apenas se esta formando y, aún les tengo que enseñar lo bien que nos la pasamos en la fiesta de Polo en Seattle el fin de semana pasado, de la cual probablemente ya vieron un adelanto en mis redes sociales. Así que voy a estar muy ajetreado pero también me espera mucha diversión y buenos momentos tanto en mi vida personal como en el blog, así que no se lo pierdan y manténganse al pendiente. Los dejo por ahora, no sin antes recordarles a todos que se vistan con estilo y que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz.
