Hi everyone! First of all, I want to address the obvious: the blog got a facelift! After a little more than 2 years remaining unchanged, I decided to make a few changes on the blog to make it more appealing and especially easier to use. For instance, now you can use search to look for any looks, brands, or tags from previous posts, as well as a category browser, which can be used in case you want to see my latest travel or lifestyle posts. Then there are a few add-ons in the footer that will be really useful as well. For example, there’s a link to my social media page on Facebook, which if you haven’t liked yet I’d recommend you do to get the latest info on what’s going on here in the blog. If you use WordPress, then there’s also a way to follow my blog, and if you don’t use WordPress nor Facebook you can subscribe with just your email. The overall look and feel also changed, and now the main page is a lot cleaner with summaries from my previous posts as well as my latest Instagram feed. All and all, I just tried to improve the quality of the blog and the easiness of access to all of my content, so let me know what you think in the comments below.
Moving on, it’s been a while guys since I haven’t posted some of my personal style posts, so I thought it was a good time to do so this time. And of course, it’s also an opportunity to share a little bit on what’s going on in the style world recently. On today’s post I want to talk about two things that are trending right now in the world of fashion: one is the color pink, or rosé, in allusion to the color of the wine we tend to have during brunch or HH, and the second trend is oversized clothing. I’ve been wanting to try these two for a while now, and the other day while shopping at Urban Outfitters, I stumbled upon this huge sweater in a beautiful pink champagne color on sale. I decided that I was going to buy it, even though I wasn’t quite sure how it was going to fit in my current wardrobe. I’m a fan of color and I’m always in for a subtle pop of it here and there, but with this sweater I was really doubting if it was going to be too much. I went for it anyway and here’s the look that I’ve created.
I decided to pair this pink oversized sweater with a pair of white pants from YaJoe, which you might remember from the collaboration I did with this Seattle local brand last year, and a navy striped t-shirt from J. Crew. For the accessories, I went for a tan, neutral vibe, given that the sweater itself is of a very bright, loud color, so I incorporated a brown snap back from H&M and my pair of wooden glasses that I got as a gift from the Seattle Style Summit event a few weeks ago. Finally, I completed the look with a pair of white sneakers also from H&M. I think that the outfit looks really good in the greenery that is our beautiful Volunteer Park Conservatory, where I was able to try out my new 50 mm lens since the space is a little reduced for my usual 85mm. Well that’s going to be it for the day folks. As I mentioned on my previous blogpost, I’ll be traveling to my hometown of Monterrey, Mexico this week for some quality time with my family. We’ll be going to Parras de la Fuente for a wine tour at Casa Madero, one of the most prestigious wineries in Northern Mexico, and I’m really excited for seeing their vineyards and wine tasting rooms. For that trip, I bought a new camera, the Olympus Pen EPL-8, which I’ve read on a few blogs that’s the perfect blogger’s camera. I’ll be uploading some of my photos on social media, and of course you can expect some more here on the blog really soon. I’ll be back on Tuesday, so it’s a short trip, but I’m sure it will be packed with lots of fun and adventure. ¡Hola a todos! Primero que nada, quisiera comentar acerca de lo obvio: ¡el blog ha sido rediseñado! Después de un poco más de 2 años de permanecer sin cambio alguno, decidí hacer algunos pequeños arreglos al blog para hacerlo ver más atractivo y especialmente más fácil de usar. Por ejemplo, ahora hay una barra de búsqueda que pueden usar para buscar cualquier tipo de look, marcas o etiquetas de posts pasados, junto con un buscador por categoría, el cual pueden utilizar en caso de que quieran ver mis más recientes posts de viaje o de estilo de vida. Luego agregué un par de add-ons en el pie de página que van a serles muy útiles también. Existe ahora un link directo a mi página de redes sociales en Facebook, a la cual si aún no le han dado like les recomiendo que lo hagan para enterarse de primera mano de lo que sucede en el blog. Si son usuarios de WordPress, entonces hay también un botón para que fácilmente puedan seguir mi blog y, si no utilizan ni WordPress ni Facebook también se pueden suscribir con tan sólo su email. La apariencia en general también ha cambiado y, ahora la página principal es mucho más compacta y sencilla con resúmenes de mis posts anteriores y una liga a mi feed de Instagram. Todo esto es para tratar de mejorar la calidad del blog y la facilidad de acceso a todo su contenido, así que déjenme saber qué opinan al respecto en la sección de comentarios.
Continuando con el post de hoy, ha pasado ya un tiempo desde la última vez que publiqué algo sobre mi estilo personal, así que pensé que ahora sería una buena oportunidad para hacerlo. Y, por supuesto, es también una oportunidad para compartir con ustedes que está sucediendo en el mundo de la moda recientemente. El día de hoy, quisiera hablar sobre dos temas que están trending en este momento: uno de ellos es el color rosado, o rosé, en alusión al color del vino que solemos tomar durante brunch o en HH y, la segunda tendencia es la ropa tamaño grande. Había querido probar estas dos tendencias desde hace algún tiempo, y el otro día mientras iba de compras en Urban Outfitters, me topé con este enorme suéter en color champaña rosada a un muy buen precio. Decidí que lo compraría, aún no estando muy seguro de cómo iba a combinar con el resto de mi guardarropa. Soy un gran fan del color y siempre intento añadir un poco de pop de color por aquí y por allá, pero con este suéter en verdad estaba dudando si iba a ser demasiado llamativo. Lo compré de igual manera y este es el look que creé para él.
Opté por combinar este suéter rosado enorme con un par de pantalones blancos de YaJoe, que puede que recuerden de una colaboración que hice con esta marca local de Seattle el año pasado y, una camiseta de rayas estilo marinero de J. Crew. Para los accesorios, me incliné por una paleta neutra y no tan llamativa, ya que el suéter es de un color muy brillante y que atrae mucho la atención, así que incorporé una gorra en color café de H&M y unos lentes de sol de madera que me dieron como regalo en la Seattle Style Summit hace unas semanas. Finalmente, completé el look con mis tennis blancos también de H&M. Creo que este outfit se ve muy bien con lo verde que es nuestro hermoso invernadero de Volunteer Park, donde además pude probar mi nueva lente de 50mm dado que el espacio estaba algo reducido para mi usual lente de 85mm. ¿Qué opinan amigos? ¿Les gusta cómo se ve este look? Eso va a ser todo por hoy amigos. Como les mencioné en mi blogpost anterior, estaré viajando a mi ciudad natal de Monterrey, México esta semana para pasar un tiempo de calidad con mi familia. Vamos a ir a Parras de la Fuente al tour del vino de la Casa Madero, uno de los viñedos más prestigiados del noreste de México y estoy muy emocionado de ver las viñas y sus haciendas para probar el vino. Para ese viaje, me he comprado una cámara nueva, la Olympus Pen EPL-8, la cual he leído en varios blogs que es la cámara perfecta para un blogger. Estaré subiendo algunas de mis fotos en redes sociales y, por supuesto, pueden esperar algunas de ellas por aquí en el blog también. Estaré de regreso el próximo martes, así que aunque es un viaje corto respectivamente, estoy seguro que estará cargado de diversión y muchas aventuras.
