Hello Geek Q’ers! How’s everybody been doing lately? It seems incredible, but we’re already heading towards the end of the month of January. That’s right, 1/12 of the year has already gone by and it seems to me as if just yesterday we were celebrating New Year’s Eve together. Time passes by so fast in front of our eyes, especially when we get really busy and we lose track of the passing of days, sometimes even weeks. To me, it has always been important to take some time every now and then to reflect on what I have done and achieved, refocus whenever I see my actions are not taking me towards my goals, and recharge to go full-speed towards these goals. This is sometimes only achieved by reserving some of my time to myself, and that has been something that has been really valuable to me since I can remember.
Another thing that really helps me recharge is spending quality time with friends. For instance, my trip to Vancouver with some of my best friends was really relaxing and it was a good time to share good memories with them (photos from that trip are coming real soon!) Also during the weekend (and sometimes late weekdays too) I like to go snowboarding with my friends to the beautiful snow caps that surround Seattle, and that helps me liberate a lot of stress. Another thing I really enjoy is going to the movies with my friends and commenting what we thought about it after watching it, and of course, my 1-on-1 times with friends are usually the highlight of my day when I get to have one. For example, this photoshoot in the picturesque streets of Redmond Town Center and in front of the Matador restaurant, was taken during one of my 1-on-1s with Kim, and like every time we meet it was a total blast. It was really cool to just shoot on the streets, between the charcoal of the pavement and the bricks of the old buildings.
Once again, here you see me opting for a look where the color palette is very neutral and simple, yet it gives this whole sense of casual streetwear. This dark gray shirt for instance, with elbow patches that match my belt, is a really good alternative for bringing that sense of casual comfort to an outfit. I decided to pair this with my favorite jeans from Club Monaco and my gray Creative Recreation sneakers. Since we’re in the middle of winter, keeping warm is one of my priorities, so I achieved this by hugging my neck with a big, knit black scarf and my H&M coat, which by the way, also suits the neutral tones of the whole outfit, and which has been really handy since I got it a bit more than a year ago on sale. What do you think? I believe that this look has a very nice, easy streetstyle feel to it and Kim’s photos were just on point here in capturing that, don’t you believe so?
There you have it guys, this is another example of my mixing of neutral tones to create that really casual, more thoughtful way of dressing I’ve been trying to achieve for a little while. I’m really happy and excited because this weekend I’m going down to LA again, this time however, on a recruiting trip where I’ll be joining Kim, Dara, and some other really good friends. We’re definitely going to bring our A game outfit-wise, so you can expect some really nice, SoCal photos real soon on the blog. I’m also super pumped because on the last day we’ll be going to Disneyland and the whole trip is just going to be hella fun. ¡Hola Geek Q’ers! ¿Cómo les ha ido a todos últimamente? Parece increíble, pero ya nos estamos acercando a la recta final del mes de enero. Así es, 1/12 del año ya se nos ha ido y parece como si apenas ayer estuviéramos celebrando el Año Nuevo juntos. El tiempo vuela rápidamente, en especial cuando nos ocupamos demasiado y perdemos el sentido de los días al pasar, y a veces hasta de las semanas. Para mí, siempre ha sido muy importante el tomarme un tiempo de vez en vez para reflexionar sobre lo que he hecho y he logrado, volver a enfocarme cuando siento que mis acciones no me están llevando rumbo a mis metas y recargar energías para seguir a toda marcha para conseguir esas metas. Esto muchas veces sólo se logra reservando tiempo para uno mismo, algo que siempre he considerado valioso para mí desde que puedo recordar.
Otra de las cosas que en verdad me es útil para recargar energías es pasar tiempo de calidad con mis amigos. Por ejemplo, este viaje a Vancouver que hice con algunos de mis mejores amigos fue extremadamente relajante y fue una buena oportunidad para compartir muy buenos momentos con ellos (¡muy pronto les enseñaré las fotos de ese viaje!) También durante el fin de semana (y a veces muy tarde entre semana) me gusta ir a hacer snowboarding con mis amigos en las bellas montañas nevadas que rodean a la ciudad de Seattle, y eso me ayuda a liberar bastante el estrés. Otra actividad que realmente disfruto hacer con amigos es ir al cine y comentar la película al terminar de verla, y por supuesto, mis ratos 1-a-1 con mis amigos son usualmente lo que más me emociona del día cuando voy a tener uno. De hecho, este photoshoot que tomamos en las pintorescas calles de Redmond Town Center y en frente del restaurante Matador, fueron tomadas en uno de mis ratos 1-a-1 con Kim, y como todas las veces que nos reunimos nos la pasamos increíble. Fue muy cool el tomar fotos en las calles, entre el asfalto del pavimento y los ladrillos de los edificios viejos.
Una vez más, aquí opté por un look donde la paleta de colores es neutral y bastante simple, y sin embargo, da este sentido de ropa para caminar por las calles casual. Esta camisa gris oscuro, por ejemplo, con parches en los codos que combinan con mi cinturón, es una gran alternativa para traer ese sentimiento de comodidad casual a un outfit. Decidí utilizar junto con esta mi par favorito de jeans de Club Monaco y mis zapatos grises Creative Recreation. Dado que estamos en pleno invierno, mantenerme abrigado es una de mis prioridades, y logré esto poniéndome una bufanda de lana negra junto con mi abrigo de H&M, el cual también se acomoda con los colores neutros de todo el conjunto, y me ha sido bastante útil desde hace más de un año que lo conseguí en una rebaja. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? Yo creo que este look tiene una vibra muy relajada y urbana y siento que las fotos que tomó Kim capturaron eso en esencia, ¿a poco no sienten lo mismo?
Pues ahí tienen, un ejemplo más de como mezclando colores neutros logré mi cometido de vestirme de una manera más casual y eficiente, como he venido mostrando en las últimas semanas. Estoy muy contento porque el fin de semana estaré viajando a Los Ángeles una vez más, pero esta vez en un viaje de reclutamiento acompañado por Kim, Dara y otros muy buenos amigos. Definitivamente vamos a aprovechar para tomar fotos con ese toque californiano mientras estemos ahí, y pueden esperar eso y más muy pronto en el blog. También estoy muy emocionado porque el último día iremos a Disneylandia y siento que todo el viaje en general va a ser muy divertido. Los dejo por ahora no sin antes recordarles que siempre se vistan con estilo y que dejen que los demás escuchen su voz.
