Autumn Daze

Hello guys! It’s me again. Another week has gone by, and as we’re getting closer to the end of October, it just got to me that we’re almost at the end of another year once again. We’re just a few more weeks away from Thanksgiving (and Black Friday which is one of my favorite days of the year) and eventually the Holiday season. I’m really happy with how this year has turned out, and I can’t wait to spend some more time with my family. As I mentioned last time, this weekend I went to Mexico to attend my friends Daniel and Barbara’s wedding, and I had a blast visiting friends and family for one more time this year. The wedding was a total success, and I really enjoyed being able to share that moment with them. I had planned a really cool photoshoot with my wedding outfit but Mother Nature got in the way, and thanks to the remnants from Hurricane Patricia I wasn’t able to take the photo session I wanted. That, however, doesn’t mean that I don’t have a post planned for you, so that wedding outfit post will have to wait for another occasion.

Before flying to Mexico, blog BFF Kim and I met the other day to shoot around campus and have one of our frequent 1-on-1 times like we always do. We had noticed last time we met that fall foliage had reached it’s peak by now, and we had in mind the idea of taking some photos with the yellow trees and fallen leaves once she got back. Guys, it’s an understatement for me to say that this view of campus is really pretty. It’s absolutely incredible! Not only do the trees look beautiful with all the different shades of yellow, orange, red, and even green, but the ground covered with the fallen leaves from autumn is what actually made this scene breath-taking. It’s also that time of the year when it rains a lot in Seattle, so we got lucky to have such an amazing, crisp October day when we shot these pics. Just the perfect setting for having a complete autumn daze.

For this particular meeting, I decided to wear a wool sweater, since this weather totally classifies as sweater weather, along with some corduroy pants. I got the sweater from American Eagle, but I’m sure you can find plenty more like this from any other store (J. Crew, H&M, Club Monaco, you name it) and it will work pretty well for this season. My corduroy pants are from Club Monaco and they are extremely warm and comfortable. Corduroy is a very versatile fabric, and it’s something you can’t miss to have in your closet. The olive green jacket is one of my favorite steals from last year’s Black Friday and it’s from H&M. This color has really grown on me and it’s coming a lot this fall/winter season. Finally, I complemented the look with my Creative Recreation shoes, which is an LA brand which has a really interesting take on casual men’s footwear, you should check them out if you haven’t! What do you say? Is this combo a hit or miss for you? This weekend is Halloween, and even though I’m super nervous because I don’t have my costume yet (I know, I know, I should have done this weeks ago) I’m really excited about dressing up and having fun with my friends. I’m taking a tour at the local thrift shop and costume store most likely tomorrow to see if they have the pieces I need for the ones I have in mind, but who knows, I might end up going a totally different direction while being there, just like two years ago and the year before that. Then next weekend I’m flying to LA (yay, sunshine!) because one of my best friends is getting married, and hopefully this time I can take a good wedding outfit photoshoot in nice weather. ¡Hola a todos! Soy yo de nuevo. Una semana más se nos ha ido, y conforme nos acercamos al final del mes de octubre, me doy cuenta que ya también se acerca el fin de año una ves más. Ya sólo estamos a un par de semanas de Thanksgiving (y por lo tanto de Black Friday que es uno de mis días favoritos del año) y eventualmente la temporada navideña. Estoy muy contento con todo lo que ha sucedido en este año, y ya no puedo esperar para pasar más tiempo con mi familia. Como les mencionaba la semana pasada, este fin de semana viajé a México para asistir a la boda de mis amigos Daniel y Bárbara, y me la pasé increíble visitando una vez más este año a mis amigos y a mi familia. La boda fue un éxito rotundo, y realmente disfruté el haber podido compartir este momento con ellos. Tenía planeado hacer una sesión de fotos muy padre con mi outfit para la boda pero la naturaleza se interpuso, ya que gracias a la lluvia ocasionada por los remanentes del huracán Patricia no pude tomarme las fotos que quería. Eso sin embargo, no significa que no tenga un post preparado para ustedes, pero por lo pronto, el post de cómo ir vestido a una boda tendrá que esperar para otra ocasión.

Antes de volar a México, mi mejor amiga bloggera Kim y yo nos reunimos el otro día en el campus para tomar fotos y tener nuestro tiempo 1-a-1 como acostumbramos ya hacerlo. Habíamos notado la vez pasada que el follaje de otoño estaba al máximo ya, así que surgió la idea de tomar fotografías con los árboles amarillos y las hojas caídas una vez que ella regresara de su viaje. Decir que la vista del campus en esta temporada es muy hermosa realmente queda corto de lo que vimos. ¡Fue absolutamente impresionante! No sólo los árboles se veían increíbles dotados de colores amarillos, naranjas, rojos, y todavía algo de verde, sino que también el suelo se pintó de colores con las hojas caídas de los árboles, creando así una escena otoñal fuera de este mundo. Es también ahorita cuando empieza a llover bastante en Seattle, así que fuimos muy afortunados al tener un día tan claro y seco en octubre cuando tomamos estas fotos. Justamente el escenario perfecto para entrar en un asombro otoñal por completo.

Para esta reunión en particular, decidí ponerme un suéter de lana, ya que podemos calificar este clima como clima de suéteres ya, junto con pantalones de pana. Este suéter es de American Eagle, pero estoy seguro de que pueden encontrar muchos similares en cualquier tienda (ya sea J. Crew, H&M, Club Monaco, la que nombren) y va a funcionar perfectamente esta temporada. Mis pantalones de pana son de Club Monaco y son extremadamente cálidos y muy cómodos. La pana es una tela bastante versátil, y es algo que no puede faltar en sus guardarropas. La chamarra color verde olivo es una de mis compras favoritas de Black Friday el año pasado y es de H&M. Este color cada vez me gusta más y se ha vuelto ya de mis predilectos esta temporada de otoño/invierno, en la cual viene mucho. Por último, completé el look con mis zapatos de Creative Recreation, la cual es una compañía de Los Ángeles que ha tomado un estilo bastante interesante en zapatos casuales para hombre, así que denles una checada si no lo han hecho ya. ¿Qué opinan? ¿Es esta combinación un hit o un miss? Muchas gracias Kim por tomar estas fotos, probablemente nos vimos muy graciosos al estar arrojando esas hojas sobre nosotros, pero me encantó el resultado. ¡Amo estas fotos!

Los dejo por hoy, no sin antes agradecerles a todos el haber leído este post el día de hoy. Este fin de semana es Halloween, y aunque estoy muy nervioso porque aún no consigo mi disfraz (lo sé, lo sé, debí haber hecho esto hace varias semanas) estoy muy emocionado por disfrazarme y divertirme con mis amigos. Probablemente visitaré mañana la tienda local de ropa usada y de disfraces para ver si tienen las piezas que necesito para los que ya tengo en mente, pero quien sabe, igual y termino disfrazándome de algo completamente distinto, eso me pasó ya hace dos años y el año anterior también. Luego, el siguiente fin de semana viajaré a Los Ángeles (¡yay, sol!) porque se casa uno de mis mejores amigos, y espero que esta vez el clima coopere para tomar mi photoshoot con un atuendo para bodas en un clima decente. Manténganse al pendiente de ese post, ya que muy pronto se los presentaré. Como siempre, recuerden vestirse con estilo y dejar que los demás escuchen su voz. Nos vemos muy pronto con muchas mas tendencias de moda y diferentes outfits. ¡Hasta la próxima!
