Summer Days

Summer is here, guys! It has finally kicked in full-throttle this week in the Pacific Northwest and I just couldn’t be happier. These last 4 days have been AMAZING. Beautiful clear skies, perfect for a sun bath by the lake, little to no rain whatsoever, and sizzling temperatures above 80 degrees are a perfect description of what has been one of the earliest summer season starts since I moved to Seattle. I just can’t complain a bit about it. Just this past weekend I went with a group of interns and friends to Cougar Mountain here in Issaquah, 30 minutes away from Seattle, and the weather couldn’t have been any better. Hiking weather is here to stay! I’m super excited and I can’t wait to start doing more outdoor activities as summer progresses.

These past few days have also been the perfect excuse to rock the short-sleeves and short pants at work. On Monday, my blogger BFF Kim and I, whom I was super happy to have met with this week since every time we do my day just becomes a million times better, went out for a late lunch date at the Commons to catch up on our lives and meet with a group of interns. Seriously guys, I totally love intern season; it’s just a great opportunity to meet new people and to share a bit of advice and knowledge to the new generations to come. We all know they are the future of the company, so it’s always a good investment. This summer I’m helping as an intern social coordinator, as the buddy of a Mexican intern, and as the buddy from my team’s intern. I do this gladly though; I think that I learn so much from the interns as they learn from me. It helps me get current on new trends in every aspect, technologically, socially, things at school, etc. plus I always love meeting new friends.

On this particular summer day I spent with Kim I decided to rock one of my favorite short-sleeve shirts from Topman. This washed denim shirt is literally a masterpiece, it almost feels like a painting itself. I love all the mix of colors and how subtle these are. I decided to pair this with more clothes from Topman: this pair of red chino shorts. Finally, I completed the look with the boat shoes, which with no show socks look really fresh and hip. For me, as I said, I think it’s getting outdoors and doing a whole bunch of things that are just not that fun in the rainy, cool, almost year-long Seattle weather.

This weekend I’m going to LA with some friends, so for next week, you can expect some more cool California pictures on the blog. Next week is also the official start of summer, which I’ve been looking forward for months because of the Summer Solstice Parade. I’ll just say that I need to keep my blog PG-13 so there won’t be any pictures from it, but it will definitely be a lot of fun, if you want to know what all the fuss is about just Bing it :). ¡El verano ha llegado, chicos! Finalmente llegó con todo el verano esta semana al Pacífico Noroeste y la verdad es que no podría estar más feliz. Estos últimos 4 días han estado INCREÍBLES. El cielo despejado, perfecto para tomar un baño de sol en el lago, poca o nada de lluvia y altas temperaturas de más de 30 grados son una descripción perfecta de lo que ha sido uno de los comienzos más tempraneros de la temporada veraniega desde que me mudé a Seattle. Eso es algo de lo que no puedo quejarme. Justo este fin de semana fui con un grupo de interns y amigos a Cougar Mountain, aquí en Issaquah, como a 30 minutos de la ciudad, y el clima no pudo haber estado mejor. ¡El clima para ir de hiking ha llegado para quedarse! Estoy muy emocionado y no puedo esperar para hacer más actividades exteriores conforme avance el verano.

También estos últimos días han sido la excusa perfecta para utilizar camisas de manga corta y shorts en el trabajo. El lunes, mi mejor amiga blogger Kim y yo, con quien estoy súper feliz de haberme reecontrado esta semana ya que cuando nos vemos mi día mejora un millón de veces, fuimos a comer a the Commons para ponernos al tanto de la vida del otro y reunirnos con un grupo de interns. En serio chicos, me encanta la temporada de interns; es una gran oportunidad para hacer nuevas amistades y compartir un poco de sabiduría a las nuevas generaciones. Todos sabemos que ellos son el futuro de la empresa, entonces es una muy buena inversión. Este verano estoy ayudando como coordinador de eventos sociales para interns, soy además el buddy de una intern mexicana, y soy el buddy del intern de mi equipo. Hago esto con gusto; siento que aprendo tanto de los interns como ellos aprenden de mí. Me ayuda a ponerme al corriente con las nuevas tendencias en muchos aspectos, tecnológicamente, socialmente, en la escuela, etc. y además me encanta hacer nuevos amigos.

En este particular día de verano que disfruté junto a Kim decidí utilizar una de mis camisas de manga corta favoritas de Topman. Esta camisa de mezclilla deslavada es literalmente una obra de arte, parece como si fuera una pintura. Me encanta la mezcla de colores que tiene y lo cálidos y sutiles que estos son. Decidí acompañar esta camisa con un par de shorts chinos rojos también de Topman. Finalmente, complementé el look con unos zapatos estilo marino, los cuáles con calcetines invisibles se ven muy frescos y muy a la moda. Muchísimas gracias Kim por estas increíbles fotografías y chicos, ya que andan por aquí, aprovechen y muéstrenle a Kim un poco de cariño en su blog también :). ¿Qué les parece? ¿Qué es lo que más esperan del verano? En mi caso, es el hacer actividades en el exterior y hacer muchas cosas que no son tan divertidas en el casi anual clima fresco y lluvioso de Seattle.

Eso es todo por hoy amigos. Muchas gracias a todos por su apoyo tan fuerte en el post pasado, estoy muy emocionado por empezar una nueva vida en una nueva casa y parece que la mayoría de ustedes está tan emocionado por esto como yo lo estoy. Este fin de semana iré a Los Ángeles con unos amigos, así que para la próxima semana pueden esperar más fotos del sur de California. La siguiente semana también es la entrada oficial del verano, la cual he esperado por meses más que nada por el Summer Solstice Parade. Quiero mantener el blog en rating PG-13, por lo que no habrá fotos del festival, pero si quieren saber más acerca de este evento sólo es cuestión de que lo busquen en Bing :). Recuerden tratar de ponerse su mejor look todos los días y dejar que los demás escuchen su voz interior a través de su vestimenta. ¡Nos vemos el próximo miércoles!
