Dapper Holidays

Ahhh tis the season, guys! This is the most wonderful time of the year, since it’s full of joy and celebrations. It’s time to think back about the year that’s coming to an end and look at everything we’ve achieved. It’s also a good moment to start thinking about the New Year and begin planning upcoming trips, make some New Year resolutions, and just enter the year with a fresh start. It is during the holidays as well when I have to dress formally the most (Thanksgiving, holiday parties, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve). Don’t get me wrong, I love my casual and informal everyday style, but it’s good to sometimes come out of that routine and try something a bit more dapper and elegant, right?

This past weekend I had my company’s holiday party, and given they are usually formal events, I decided to wear a navy blue suit. I paired the suit with a really nice shirt that I got as a Christmas gift from one of my friends in Mexico (thanks for the shirt Pablo, it fits really well and you’ve definitely got great taste! Make sure you check out his Instagram here.) For this look I did my own bow tie as well (you can learn how to do one in this Youtube video). Please do try it out! It will probably take a few attempts before you get it right, but they look much better than the clip-on ones so it’s worth the shot. Since I’m never afraid of color, I wore this beautiful knit scarf that I got from Topman. It’s one of the things I found on sale during my Black Friday shopping spree; I love how it looks with the green tartan bow tie! It was also a really cold night outside so I’m wearing a pair of washed leather gloves just to give the whole outfit a nice finish with a real gentleman touch. The photos were taken at the lobby in my apartment building before going to the party, where I had a lot of fun. What do you think, are you feeling inspired for the holiday season?

That’s all for today folks, as always thank you very much for reading my blog and commenting here, on Facebook, and Instagram (links to my social media at the bottom of the page). These now include Bloglovin, so if you have an account make sure you follow me to find out my latest posts earlier than anyone (if you don’t, you can sign up with Facebook quite easily). This week I’m looking forward to meet my blogger best friend Kimberly to see what our creative minds come up with (and use a new lens I got myself as Christmas gift for the first time, it’s pretty neat!), just before traveling to Mexico again to start my holiday vacation. Then I’ll be going to NYC with all my family to spend New Year’s Eve in the Big Apple, and you can expect LOTS of awesome pics from that trip just here on Geek Q really soon. Remember to dress stylish during this holiday season (give the bow tie a try) and I’ll see you tomorrow with a post from the past. Till the next one guys!

Buen juego de prendas y colores.. aparte que te ves moderno I like it.

Muchas gracias porl el shout-out =)
