Hello, hello my friends! Happy Winter Solstice! Today is the first day of winter and it definitely has been feeling a lot like it here in Seattle in the past couple of days. Winter tends to be Seattle’s stormiest season, and we’ve been getting barreled by storms every other day for the past week or so. As the end of the year approaches though, this is going to be more common, and we’re pretty much used to it. Just overall this has been an amazing year so far, with great successes and opportunities that have been given to me on my blogger’s journey. However, this is going to be the last blog post of the year, since on Monday I’ll be flying to Mexico for Christmas and New Year’s, so let’s get to it one last time before we part ways for a while.
As I mentioned before, winter is here, and it is here to stay. Winter is a very interesting season in terms of fashion, because depending on where you live it can totally mean very different things. For people in the Northeast and Midwest, for instance, it might mean time to brace for snowstorms and wear as many layers as possible to keep yourself warm. For people in the South, it might mean that you need to be prepared for some cold days, but mostly it will be sunny and sometimes even warm for this time of the year. And for the Pacific Northwest, winter means storms, so you need to be prepared for the breeze and rain, the windstorms, and sometimes even snow. Winter clothes are some of my favorite of the year, just because I love wearing comfy clothes and in winter, comfort and warmth is paramount almost anywhere you live.
For this last post, but the first of a very long winter season here in Seattle, I decided to wear a plaid flannel shirt from J. Crew with a cream cardigan, also from J. Crew (in fact, all my outfit is from J. Crew this time). For the pant I went for an olive green chino and I decided to wear my brown leather boots because winter weather can be really rough on your feet. The incredible and amazing Trigga T (who you might remember from my last post) also shot these beautiful pictures in the vicinities of my favorite Seattle neighborhood: Capitol Hill. ¡Hola, hola amigos míos! ¡Feliz solsticio de invierno! Hoy marca el primer día del invierno y definitivamente se ha dejado sentir aquí en Seattle en estos últimos días. El invierno tiende a ser la temporada más tormentosa en Seattle, y hemos sido azotados por tormentas casi todos los días esta semana que acaba de pasar. En general, este ha sido un año increíble para mí en términos del blog, con mucho éxito y muchas oportunidades que se me han otorgado en mi camino como blogger. Este va a ser el último post de este año, ya que el lunes estaré viajando a México para Navidad y Año Nuevo, así que hagamos esto una vez más antes de que partamos por un rato.
Como ya les mencionaba anteriormente, el invierno ha llegado, y está aquí para quedarse un rato. El invierno es una temporada muy interesante en términos de moda, ya que dependiendo de dónde vivan puede significar cosas muy distintas. Por ejemplo, para la gente de la costa este, la llegada del invierno puede significar que es tiempo de prepararse para las tormentas de nieve y vestir tantas capas de ropa como sea posible para mantener el calor. Para la gente del sur, puede significar que tienen que prepararse para algunos días fríos, pero principalmente va a estar soleado la mayor parte del tiempo y puede que haga calor. Y para el Pacífico Noroeste, el invierno significa LLUVIA, así que tienes que estar preparado para la brisa, el viento, las tormentas e inclusive para una que otra esporádica nevada. La ropa de invierno es de mi favorita de todo el año, simplemente porque me gusta vestir ropa cómoda y en invierno, el confort y la ropa cálida son primordiales para sobrevivirlo.
Para este último post, pero el primero de una larga temporada invernal aquí en Seattle, he decidido ponerme una camisa de franela de cuadros de J. Crew junto con un cardigan en color crema también de J. Crew (de hecho, toda el conjunto que estoy mostrando es de J. Crew). Para el pantalón, decidí ponerme unos chinos en color verde olivo y también opté por usar mis botas de cuero ya que el invierno puede ser bastante rudo con tus pies. La increíble y sorprendente Trigga T (quien recordarán de mi post anterior) fue la que tomó estas maravillosas fotografías en mi vecindario favorito de Seattle, Capitol Hill. ¿Qué opinan amigos? ¿Están todos listos para la llegada del invierno? Bueno mis amigos, con eso me despido por ahora.
