Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! Today I’m super pleased to present you the first post on Geek Q where we dive not only into menswear, but into women’s clothes as well. This idea came out very spontaneously actually, when last week, my blogger BFFerboo Kim from Hello Kim Win and I got together to have one of our almost-weekly meetups where we take photos of each other’s outfit and then hang out for a while over coffee, bubble tea, ice cream, or smoothies. Seriously guys, this is like my highlight from every week and it always brings me to a very happy mood. It was when we saw what we were wearing (which I swear, was not intentional y’all, great minds think alike!) that we noticed our outfits matched almost perfectly! I mean, we were both looking super season-appropriate and really PNW-erners with our plaid flannel shirts, but we were so in sync that day that we were even wearing similar color patterns! How awesome is that? Therefore, we decided to create our first photoshoot (and post) together and here is the result!
First let’s talk about Kim’s outfit. Kim here is wearing a very cute combination of flannel shirt with a baroque, burgundy skirt. I love how the simple A-line of the skirt creates a very beautiful silhouette. Almost like a complete dress with a high waist, which really just looks plain adorable on Kim. Of course, no fall outfit in Seattle would be complete without layering, so she added this pink trench she borrowed from our other super awesome blogger BFF Katrina, which let’s face it, just brought the whole outfit to a different level. The mix of light pink with burgundy (or Oxblood as our friend Nini taught us in her most recent post) is really feminine and beautiful, and given the season Kim also decided to add this stripe-patterned frayed scarf from Forever 21. One thing that Kim is really known for is that her shoe is always on point, and here she does not disappoint with these lace up booties from DSW which just complete the very playful, versatile outfit she put together. Now let’s talk about my outfit. Just a few days ago, Uniqlo opened it’s first store in the PNW here in downtown Bellevue, and if there is one thing this store does way better than others is outerwear and winter clothes. I decided to take a trip to the recently opened store and I found a lot of really cool items and accessories which I think are perfect for the season. Take a look at this fleece jacket for instance, which I must say, was on sale and I got it for only $15. The pattern it has is so cool and hip, it kind of reminds me of a fair isle sweater like the ones I own from J. Crew. And it is extremely warm and comfy, so good that I almost didn’t have to wear a coat that day even though it was freezing and raining a lot. The flannel shirt I also got from Uniqlo, and it’s just a real statement of the PNW style. Finally, I decided to buy this cashmere scarf which is also really warm and you can wear either around your neck or on your shoulders. I paired these up with my burgundy joggers from Nordstrom and finally topped the look with my Creative Recs. Do you like the mix of patterns? I feel burgundy is really going to be my color this season, and from what it looks apparently I’m not the only one obsessed with it. And if this post couldn’t get any better, we got Jeff (one of Kim’s friends from her previous team) to snap a few shots of us together, where let’s face it, we look so damn cute.

¡Hola a todos! ¡Feliz miércoles! El día de hoy me complace presentarles el primer post en Geek Q donde no sólo nos enfocaremos en moda masculina, sino también en moda femenina. Esta idea surgió muy espontáneamente, cuando la semana pasada mi mejor amiga bloggera Kim de Hello Kim Win y yo nos reunimos para tener una de nuestras sesiones casi-semanales donde tomamos fotos el uno del otro y luego platicamos mientras tomamos café, té con tapioca, nieve o licuados. En verdad chicos, este es uno de mis momentos favoritos de la semana y siempre me mantiene de muy buen humor ese día. Fue entonces cuando nos dimos cuenta esa vez que lo que estábamos vistiendo (lo cual prometo que no fue planeado ni intencional en ninguna manera, dicen que grandes mentes piensan de manera similar) combinaba casi a la perfección. Digo, los dos estábamos vistiendo algo muy de acuerdo con la temporada y nuestras camisas de cuadros de franela son muy significativas del Pacífico Noroeste, pero estuvimos tan sincronizados que hasta nuestra paleta de colores fue similar. ¿Qué tan increíble es eso? Por eso decidimos hacer nuestra primera sesión de fotos (y post) juntos y he aquí el resultado.
Primero hablemos del outfit de Kim. Kim está vistiendo una combinación muy coqueta de camisa de franela con una falda barroca color vino. Me encanta como la línea-A de la falda crea una muy hermosa silueta. Casi como si este fuera un vestido completo con una cintura alta, lo cual se ve súper adorable en Kim. Por supuesto, como ningún atuendo otoñal en Seattle estaría completo sin un par de capas, le agregó esta gabardina rosada que le prestó nuestra otra amiga bloggera Katrina, lo cual aceptémoslo, elevó el look completo a otro nivel. La combinación del color rosa claro con el color vino (u “Oxblood” como nos enseñó nuestra amiga Nini en su más reciente post) es muy femenina y romántica, y dada la temporada Kim también decidió añadir esta bufanda rayada de Forever 21. Si hay algo por lo que Kim es realmente reconocida es porque sus zapatos siempre están a la moda, y en esta ocasión no nos decepcionó con estas botas de DSW que completaron el look divertido y versátil que ella acomodó. ¿Qué opinan chicas? ¿Están pensando en comprar alguna de estas prendas? Ahora hablemos sobre mi outfit. Sólo apenas hace unos días, Uniqlo abríó su primera tienda en el Pacífico Noroeste aquí en el centro de Bellevue, y si hay algo que esta tienda tiene de ventaja sobre las otras es la ropa de invierno y las chamarras. Así que decidí visitar la tienda el otro día y encontré muchos artículos y accesorios de la temporada que me gustaron bastante. Vean por ejemplo esta chamarra de fleece que tan sólo me costó $15 porque estaba en oferta. El patrón que tiene está muy padre y divertido, me recuerda a los suéteres de marino que tengo de J. Crew un poco. Y es extremadamente cálido y cómodo, tanto que casi no me tuve que poner el abrigo ese día y eso que estaba congelando y lloviendo bastante. La camisa de franela también es de Uniqlo y es un verdadero representante del estilo de Pacífico Noroeste. Por último, decidí comprarme esta bufanda de casimir que también es muy cálida y puedes ponértela tanto alrededor del cuello o sobre los hombros y se ve muy bien. Combiné esto con mis joggers color vino de Nordstrom y finalmente completé el look con mis tenis Creative Recs. ¿Les gusta la mezcla de patrones? Siento que el color vino va a ser el color de esta temporada para mí, y al parecer no soy el único obsesionado con él. Y por si este post no pudiera ponerse todavía mejor, logramos que Jeff (un amigo de Kim de su antiguo equipo) nos tomara un par de fotos juntos, donde salimos muy bien creo yo. Nos vemos adorables.
¡Bueno, eso fue todo por hoy! Espero que les haya gustado esta colaboración (la cual es una de mis favoritas hasta el momento sin duda alguna) y les prometo que haré esto más seguido (no se por qué nos tomó tanto tiempo en que se nos ocurriera esto). Muchísimas gracias Kim por haber pensado en esta idea tan genial y por ser una amiga y escucha excelente cuando tenemos nuestras reuniones. ¡Eres lo máximo! La siguiente semana es el Día de Acción de Gracias y estoy emocionado de pasarlo aquí en Seattle con amigos para celebrar. Después viene mi (segundo) día favorito del año: ¡Black Friday!
