Prints and Flowers

Hey guys! First of all I want to thank all of you for your amazing support in my last post. That was my first collaboration with a brand and your feedback was AMAZING both here in the blog and on social media. I’m super excited about what’s to come next, so keep posted for new collaborations and new content just here on Geek Q. Last week, I had my one-on-one time with my blog BFF Kim. We had an amazing time together, shooting outfit shots with the pretty spring flowers and also talking about life while eating ice cream and juice smoothies. Just my perfect kind of date! Guys, for real, it’s been incredibly beautiful here in the Pacific Northwest. Just this past weekend we had our hottest day of the year yet (80 degrees!) and it was AWESOME. Everyone was outside having fun in the sun and enjoying the abnormal temps (we should be hanging around the low 60s this time of year). It happened to be the same day that I was moving, which went out really well, I’m all settled now at my new home.

Back to my outfit shots with Kim, we were wandering around campus the other day and we found this pretty spot with flowers and a nice green patch right by the soccer fields. For this occasion I decided to wear a double print combination, because I’m a big fan of color and they are particularly in this season. I really dig the print on these camo pants. It looks like a regular camo, but it’s actually leaves. Then I went for a very bright, checkered button down for the top. You have to think about color balance here. A shirt this bright would not look so good with very bright, colorful pants. That’s why they look just great with these more discrete pants. Finally I completed the look with my Clarks boots. Does it work for you? Don’t be afraid to play with prints, it’s totally fine to wear different prints as long as the color balance is there. Okay that’s all for now. As I said I already finished moving this weekend, but everything is still in boxes so I’m not ready to show you some pictures yet. ¡Hola chicos! Antes que nada quiero agradecerle a todos ustedes el apoyo inmenso que me dieron en el último post. Esa fue mi primera colaboración con una marca y su retroalimentación ha sido impresionante tanto aquí en el blog como en las redes sociales. Estoy muy emocionado por lo que está por venir, así que mántenganse al pendiente para nuevas colaboraciones y nuevo contenido sólo aquí en Geek Q. La semana pasada, tuve mi tiempo a solas con mi blog BFF Kim. Nos la pasamos muy bien juntos, tomando fotos de outfits entre las flores de primavera y platicando sobre la vida mientras disfrutábamos de nieve y smoothies. ¡Justo mi tipo de cita perfecta! Chicos, en verdad, ha estado increíble el clima aquí en el Pacífico Noroeste. Este fin de semana que acaba de pasar tuvimos nuestro día más caliente del año hasta ahora (¡26 grados!) y estuvo muy padre. Todos estaban haciendo algo afuera, disfrutando del sol y de las temperaturas anormales (ahorita deberíamos de estar rondando los 16 grados). Todo pasó el mismo día de mi mudanza, la cual salió mucho mejor de lo que esperaba, ya estoy acostumbrándome a la nueva casa.

Ahora de regreso a las fotos que tomé con Kim. Nos encontrábamos vagando por el campus el otro día y encontramos este lindo lugar y un jardín cerca de las canchas de fútbol. Para esta ocasión, decidí vestir una combinación de patrones diferente, ya que soy un gran fan del color y los patrones están de moda esta temporada. Me gusta mucho el patrón de estos pantalones de camuflaje, que a primera vista pareciera ser un camuflaje común y corriente. Sin embargo, el patrón es en realidad un conjunto de hojas. Después me fui por una camisa de botones con un tono fuerte y brillante para la parte de arriba. Tienen que pensar en el balance de tonos aquí. Una camisa con estos tonos tan alegres no se vería tan bien con un pantalón de tonos intensos. Es por esto que se ve muy bien con estos pantalones un poco más discretos. Finalmente, terminé el look con mis botines Clarks. ¿Les agrada el conjunto? No teman jugar con patrones, está bien utilizar patrones diferentes siempre y cuando haya un balance de tonos. Okay es todo por hoy. Como les comentaba, ya me terminé de mudar pero aún tengo todo guardado en cajas (ropa, accesorios, etc.) así que aún no estoy listo para mostrarles fotos de la casa.
