Naval Summer

Boat shoes, summer trunks, sunglasses, white shirts. These are a few of my favorite things. Hello my friends! It’s summer in Seattle already (finally), and with it comes that time of year which I love: blue skies and no rain, everyday. Literally, it’s like if the whole city changes its personality and becomes more like Southern California. It is a great opportunity for people to spend time outdoors (since the day is so long) and for all the summer fashion to make it back into our closets. And it’s not an understatement when I say that summer really came back strong this year, it’s been 32 days now with no rain and mostly pleasant temperatures (it hasn’t been that hot this year either which is great).

With all the Seattle Gents events, I felt like it’s been a while since I’ve done a personal fashion post, so this time I decided to bring those back with the quintessential look for a summer in Seattle: something that I want to call the naval look. The naval look comprises typical boat/naval colors, like blue, white, and red, summer trunks or shorts with a 7″-8″ inseam, and a button-down. Really guys, this look is so easy to make, and so good and comfortable for those sunny summer days. And of course, your best pair of sunglasses to top the look and really give that beachy vibe.

For this post, I decided to create my first naval look on the blog with a really nice pair of blue twill shorts from Abercrombie and Fitch. It had been a while since I hadn’t shopped at A&F, but when I saw these pair of shorts online I knew that I had to had them. They are super stylish and just the right length. I paired these with a white button-down from AllSaints, since white is one of my favorite colors to wear during the summer, and for the shoes I went with my Sperry Topsider boat shoes. For the accessories, I wore my Burberry sunglasses, a brown snapback from H&M, and my black Swatch watch. What do you think? Think you can pull off the naval look as well? Zapatos de lanchero, shorts veraniegos, lentes de sol, camisas blancas. Estas son sólo algunas de mis cosas favoritas. ¡Hola amigos! Es verano en Seattle (por fin) y con el verano llega una época del año que me gusta mucho: cielo azul y despejado y nada de lluvia, todos los días. Literalmente es como si la ciudad hubiera cambiado de personalidad y se hubiera convertido en el sur de California. Es un tiempo excelente para que la gente aproveche para hacer actividades al exterior (dado que el día es muy largo) y para que nuestra moda de verano regrese al fin. No estoy exagerando cuando les digo que el verano en verdad volvió con fuerza este año, llevamos ya 32 días y contando sin lluvia y temperaturas muy placenteras (tampoco ha hecho mucho calor este año lo cual está increíble).

Con todos los eventos de los Seattle Gents, siento que ha pasado un tiempo ya desde que no hago un post personal de moda, así que en esta ocasión decidí traer esos posts de regreso con el look que no puede faltar para el verano en Seattle: algo que quiero denominar como el look naval. El look naval consiste, típicamente, en vestir colores navales/marinos, como el azul, el blanco y el rojo, shorts veraniegos o cortos con un largo de aproximadamente 7-8 pulgadas y una camisa de botones. En serio amigos, este look es tan fácil de crear y tan cómodo para estos días de verano. Y por supuesto, no podrían faltar tus lentes de sol favoritos para verte como si anduvieras en la playa.

Para este post, decidí crear my primer look naval en el blog con un par de shorts veraniegos de Abercrombie and Fitch. Llevaba ya un tiempo de no ir a comprar ropa a A&F, pero cuando vi estos shorts en Internet me di cuenta que necesitaba tenerlos. Se ven súper a la moda y son del largo perfecto. Junto con estos shorts me puse una camisa de botones blanca de AllSaints, ya que el blanco es uno de mis colores predilectos para el verano y, para lo zapatos, me fui por zapatos de lanchero de Sperry Topsider. Para los accesorios, me puse mis lentes de sol Burberry, una gorra en color café de H&M y mi reloj Swatch negro. ¿Qué opinan? ¿Creen que este es el look que quieren probar este verano? Quisiera agradecer a mi roommate por tomar estas fotos en los hermosos parques de Madison Valley. ¡Nuestro vecindario está súper verde en esta época del año!
