His & Hers (Flower Buds)

Hello my peeps! Happy Hump Day! Today in the His & Hers series (which by the way it is still a thing, we just took a long break!) I’m happy to present you with more photos with Wallflower Boutique. You might remember this company from a post I did a few weeks ago, which basically blossomed out of nowhere after my boo Kim and her friends created this beautiful flowery background for her wedding and decided to start a business on it. Talking about her wedding, by the way, Kim just wrote a piece about her own marriage last week in her blog and gosh, you guys, you really have to check it out! I was extremely moved after reading how she expresses her feelings and thoughts about her relationship with her now-husband Mitch, because I’ve been witness of the way Kim and Mitch communicate with each other; it’s just magical. In this post Kim also talks about how their different backgrounds and cultures came together for a one-of-a-kind, playful, beautiful family photoshoot, and their outfits are as colorful and gorgeous as they can get, so you can’t miss out on this!

For this post I decided to wear exactly the same outfit that I used for Kim’s wedding, actually, which was comprised of a shorts suit from Topman with a white shirt from AllSaints. I went for light gray because, given that the pants are short, it needs to still look formal enough for important events, and light gray is a super formal color. I wore it with a white shirt, to keep on with the formality, and a knit purple tie with a purple plaid pocket square. For the shoes, I opted for wearing brown shoes, since my belt was also brown, and this all worked perfectly with the flowery, dreamy backdrop. Shorts suits are a bit special, because as I said, they can look a little too informal if not worn with the right accessories and colors. However, I think this combination came out really well and it had that summery, vibrant punch that I wanted it to have.

On her side, Kim also decided to wear a white shirt, a beautiful crop top from Forever 21, along with a circle skirt also from Forever 21. I really like how Kim wore these two pieces as if they were a single dress, it looks very formal and it gives her the signature A-line we’ve learned to love and learn from her wardrobe. Also, these colors popped really well on the flower wall, which just gave this whole look a very lux vibe. I also liked how her skirt paired up with my pocket square (this is insane, we almost shared no details about our two looks and even then we always seem to find a thing in our outfits that matches to perfection) and how we teamed up for some cheesy, prom-like photos but let’s face it, we look super cute in these, particularly with this background. For the shoes, Kim went for blue Birkenstocks (PNW represents!) and her glamorous sunglasses completed the look. What do you guys think? That’s it for now folks. As you can see, Kim and I still have it, and we can make a joint photoshoot work even without sharing with each other what we’re gonna wear. That’s why it’s so easy teaming up with her to do these collabs, and I love them so much! This weekend, I’ll be traveling with her and a couple of other friends and interns to SoCal for an incredible Halloween-themed party at Disneyland, and then we’ll be hanging out in the beautiful beaches of Santa Monica. Then next week is  Seattle Fashion Week, the week I’ve been waiting for all year is finally here, and I have lots of surprises for you. ¡Hola amigos! ¡Feliz mitad de semana! Hoy en la serie Él y Ella (la que por cierto aún existe, sólo nos tomamos un largo break) estoy muy feliz en presentarles más fotografías con Wallflower Boutique. Puede que recuerden esta compañía de mi post de hace algunas semanas, la cual básicamente salió de la nada cuando mi amiga Kim y sus amigas crearon este hermoso fondo floral para su boda y decidieron comenzar un negocio alrededor de ella. Hablando sobre su boda, por cierto, Kim acaba de escribir hace unos días acerca de su propio matrimonio en su blog y les sugiero, amigos, ¡tienen que darse la vuelta! Me gustó bastante leer como se expresa sobre sus sentimientos y pensamientos acerca de su relación con su ahora esposo Mitch, ya que yo he sido testigo de la manera en que Kim y Mitch se comunican el uno con el otro; es mágica. En este post Kim también habla acerca de sus distintos bagajes culturales y de como estos se mezclaron para una sesión de fotos familiar única, divertida y hermosa, en la que sus vestuarios son tan coloridos y bellos como ningunos otros, ¡así que no se lo pierdan! 

Para este post he decidido ponerme el mismo outfit que usé en la boda de Kim, el cual consistía en un traje corto de Topman con una camisa blanca de AllSaints. Opté por el color gris claro ya que dado que los pantalones del traje son cortos, necesitaba seguir viéndose lo suficientemente formal para eventos importantes y, el color gris claro es súper formal. Lo usé con una camisa blanca para seguir con esa formalidad, aunado a una corbata tejida en color morado junto con un pañuelo también en morado. Para los zapatos, me fui por zapatos color café ya que mi cinto también era de este color, y todo esto se veía increíble con el fondo floral de ensueño. Los trajes de pantalón corto son un poco especiales, ya que como mencioné, se pueden llegar a ver algo informales si no se visten con los accesorios adecuados y en el color correcto. Sin embargo, creo que esta combinación funcionó a la perfección y tenía ese impacto vibrante y veraniego que le quería dar.

Por su parte, Kim también decidió utilizar una camisa en color blanco, una hermosa blusa corta hecha de malla de Forever 21, junto con una falda cuadriculada circular también de Forever 21. Realmente me gusta como Kim vistió estas dos piezas como si fueran un vestido de una pieza, se ve muy formal y le da esa figura tipo A que hemos aprendido a amar y admirar de su guardarropa. También estos colores resaltaron de muy buena manera con los de la pared de flores, lo cual le dio a este look una vibra de lujo. También me gustó como su falda hizo buena combinación con mi pañuelo (esto si es increíble, casi ni compartimos detalles sobre como iban a ser nuestros dos looks y aún así siempre parecemos encontrar algo en nuestros atuendos que combina de muy buena manera) y como nos tomamos estas fotos un poco cursi que parecen como de graduación, pero aceptémoslo, nos vemos adorables en ellas, particularmente con este fondo. Para los zapatos, Kim optó en portar sandalias azules Birkenstocks (muy al estilo del PNW) y sus lentes glamurosos que completaron el look. ¿Qué opinan al respecto? Y eso va a ser todo por el día de hoy. Como pueden ver, Kim y yo aún tenemos ese click, y podemos hacer una sesión de fotos exitosa en conjunto aún y sin compartir detalles sobre lo que vamos a vestir cada quien. Por eso es muy fácil para mi hacer colaboraciones con ella, ¡y me encanta hacerlo! Este fin de semana, estaré viajando con Kim y otros amigos e interns al sur de California para ir a una fiesta de Halloween increíble en Disneylandia, y después pasaremos el rato en las hermosas playas de Santa Mónica. La siguiente semana es al fin Seattle Fashion Week, la semana por la que llevo esperando todo el año finalmente esta aquí y les tengo muchas sorpresas. Por último, quisiera recordarles que se vistan siempre a la moda y en su propio estilo, para que los demás escuchen su voz por la forma en la que visten.
