A Brief Look at Spring x Polette Eyewear

Hello my friends! How’s it going? I hope you’re all having a great week so far and that you’re excited as I am for this weekend. It happens to be that this week is Seattle Fashion Week and I have been invited to two events and a workshop this weekend, one of which will be the main designer exposé at the Metropolist this Friday. I’m really happy to participate in this magnum event, which will be the first Fashion Week for the city of Seattle, and I’ll be sharing with you a lot of the coverage I get here on the blog, so keep posted. It will also be a great opportunity to dress up nicely and attend awesome parties, so I can’t explain how grateful I am for being offered this opportunity. None of this would be possible without your support,  my readers, since it was because and through my blog that I got contacted by the SFW organizers, so thank you for being so amazing.

Today I bring you a very special post. I was contacted, also through my blog, by Polette Eyewear, a French eyewear boutique, in looks for collaborating together. You might not know this, but I actually wear glasses; it just happens that I also wear contacts all the time. And even though glasses can be a great fashion accessory, the main reason I don’t wear them on a regular basis is because they’re usually too heavy on my nose and ears. I haven’t been used to them since I stopped wearing glasses in 5th grade, so I often get headaches when I do wear them. After taking a look at Polette Eyewear design, which I must say really attracted me in the first place, I decided to give them a try and ask for a pair. I ordered the Bellamy model, and after they arrived a few weeks after I ordered, I was really pleased with the result! Not only do they look fantastic (the brown mix of colors in this patterned frame really appealed to me) but I could wear them during the whole day without getting a single headache!

My day started right outside my house, when I decided I was going to ride my bike because the weather has been beautiful lately! It’s as if spring gave us a beautiful, early taste of what’s to come, with the cherry trees already blooming and the rain ceasing for a couple of hours during the afternoon, just the perfect pattern for clearing the air for a perfect afternoon walk/ride. For my day I decided to wear my black and blue flannel from Uniqlo with my favorite burgundy joggers. To cover myself from the cold I put on this yellow sweater from H&M that my really good friend Pablo gave me back during Christmas these past holidays, and to match this sweater I also wore yellow socks. You know how I love that matching detail. Finally I wore my Asics as I rode downtown to the Seattle Public Library to get one of my favorite books, stopping on the way by some really nice street art and monuments between Pike and Pine also in downtown Seattle. The weather was lovely and I was able to do all of this without feeling any fatigue from the glasses. What do you guys think? I feel from now on maybe I can incorporate these to my looks as well from time to time since I know I won’t get tired of wearing them. I also want to thank my roommate Carlos for taking these photos and following me on my adventure.

¡Hola amigos! ¿Cómo están? Espero que estén teniendo una semana excelente hasta ahora y que estén igual de emocionados que yo porque llegue el fin de semana. Resulta que esta semana es Seattle Fashion Week y he sido invitado a dos eventos y a un taller este fin de semana, uno de los cuales será la principal exposición de diseñadores en el Metropolist este viernes. Estoy muy contento de poder participar en este magno evento, el cuál sucede por primera vez en Seattle, y les estaré compartiendo muchas de las fotos y videos que tome aquí en el blog, así que manténganse al pendiente de él. También será una oportunidad increíble para vestirme elegante e ir a varias de las fiestas que organizan, así que no puedo explicarles lo agradecido que estoy por haberme ofrecido esta oportunidad. Nada de esto sería posible sin su apoyo, mis lectores, ya que fue por y a través de mi blog que me contactaron los organizadores de SFW, así que muchas gracias por ser lo máximo.

El día de hoy les traigo un post muy especial. Me contactaron hace tiempo, también por medio de mi blog, los representantes de Polette Eyewear, una óptica francesa, en búsqueda de posibilidades para colaborar juntos. Quizás muchos de ustedes no lo sepan, pero yo utilizo anteojos, sólo que traigo puestos lentes de contacto todo el tiempo. Y aunque los lentes puedan ser un excelente accesorio de moda, la principal razón por la que no los uso en el día a día es porque normalmente me pesan mucho en la nariz y en las orejas. Como no estoy acostumbrado a usarlos desde quinto de primaria, seguido me da dolor de cabeza por usarlos. Después de darle un vistazo a los diseños de Polette Eyewear, los cuales debo admitir que me atrajeron bastante desde un principio, decidí probar uno de ellos y pedí un par. Ordené el modelo Bellamy, y después de dos semanas, llegaron y quedé muy satisfecho con el resultado. No sólo se ven increíbles (me encanta la mezcla de tonos cafés en esta armazón que elegí) sino que también los pude utilizar durante un día entero, y ¡ningún dolor de cabeza!

Mi día comenzó justo afuera de la casa, donde decidí tomar un paseo en bicicleta porque el clima ha estado increíble estos últimos días. Es como si la primavera nos hubiera dado una probada de lo que está por venir, con los cerezos que ya empiezan a florecer y con la lluvia parando por un par de horas durante la tarde, el patrón perfecto que aclara el aire y permite tomar un paseo vespertino perfecto. Para mi día me puse mi camisa de franela de Uniqlo en color azul con negro con mi par favorito de joggers color vino. Para protegerme del frío y la lluvia me puse este suéter amarillo de H&M que me regaló mi buen amigo Pablo esta Navidad pasada y para combinar con el suéter me puse calcetines amarillos también. Ustedes saben como me encantan esos detalles. Por último, me puse mis tenis Asics mientras iba al centro de la ciudad a la biblioteca pública de Seattle por uno de mis libros favoritos, parándome en el camino en algunos murales y monumentos que engalanan las calles de Pike y Pine también en el centro de Seattle. El clima estaba estupendo y pude hacer todo esto sin sentir fatiga a causa de los lentes. ¿Qué opinan? Siento que de ahora en adelante quizás pueda incorporar estos lentes a mi look ya que ya se que no me voy a incomodar por ellos. También quiero aprovechar para agradecerle a mi roommate Carlos por tomar estas fotos y seguirme durante mi aventura.
