Trench coat and Patterns

Hi readers! Happy hump day! Another week has passed and we’ve reached the end of April now. With all my traveling in the past few weeks I didn’t even notice that a third of the year has gone by. A third! It seems like it was only yesterday when I was writing to you about my New Year’s resolutions, many of which I’m still on track to achieve, while some others have fallen into the cracks. One thing I did do during these past few months is my closet cleanup. I noticed that through my 4 years in Seattle I’ve accumulated a lot of clothes (especially because of my shopaholic condition). I’ve been working on trimming my closet, focusing on basics and pieces with high reusable value. And, top of it all, keep the clothes that are the most comfortable but also the most current. This makes choosing my everyday clothes a much simpler task.

Most of the pieces in the following outfit I’ve already featured on the blog. However, I’ve never combined them together and I really liked how this pairing resulted. First we have the trench coat, which has been one of my most frequent go-to’s this spring season. Perhaps you remember it from the London Calling post. It’s one of my favorite outerwear pieces because of it’s versatility. It looks really good with both formal and more casual wear, and it’s never too heavy or too warm for the day. The other piece that you have already seen before are these joggers, which you may remember from the Blue Valentine post. Last but not least, I’m wearing the sweater from my Mixed Prints post, with just a simple baby blue button-down from Club Monaco. It is the combination of these, the harmony between all the pieces, that really made it for me in this outfit. What’s your opinion on this? Does it meet the bar for a normal day at work? Of course these are all garments that I decided to keep in my minimalistic closet, they fit my checklist to perfection.

¡Hola lectores! ¡Feliz miércoles! Otra semana del año se nos fue y hemos llegado al final del mes de abril. Con mis viajes de las últimas semanas ni siquiera había notado que ya pasó un tercio del año. ¡Un tercio! Y aunque pareciera que fue ayer cuando les estaba escribiendo sobre mis propósitos de Año Nuevo, muchos de los cuales todavía estoy en proceso de cumplir, otros de estos ni siquiera los he empezado. Una cosa que sí he hecho en estos meses es la limpia de mi clóset. Me di cuenta que durante mis primeros 4 años en Seattle he acumulado bastante ropa (probablemente gracias a mi desorden de comprador compulsivo). He estado trabajando en reducir el tamaño de mi clóset, enfocándome en piezas base y en prendas con bastante valor de reúso. Teniendo siempre como prioridad no sólo mantener la ropa más cómoda sino también la ropa de temporada. Esto ha hecho que elegir mi atuendo todos los días sea una tarea mucho más sencilla.

La mayoría de las piezas que pueden ver en el siguiente outfit ya las había presentado en el blog. Sin embargo, nunca las había combinado de esta manera y realmente me gustó el resultado. Primero, tenemos la gabardina, la cual ha sido uno de mis recursos más buscados en esta primavera. Quizás la recuerden del post de London Calling. Es una de mis prendas favoritas debido a su versatilidad. Se ve muy bien tanto con ropa formal como con ropa más casual, y nunca está de más por ser muy pesada o muy caliente durante el día. La otra vestimenta que probablemente recuerden haber visto antes son los joggers, los cuales les presenté en el post Blue Valentine. Por último, tenemos el suéter de mi entrada Mixed Prints, con una camisa de botones azul cielo muy simple de Club Mónaco. Es la combinación de estas tres, la armonía entre las prendas, lo que realmente me gustó de este outfit. ¿Qué opinan, cumple las expectativas para un día normal de trabajo? Por supuesto que esta ropa forma parte de mi nuevo clóset minimalista, ya que cumplen con mi requisitos a la perfección.

No quiero arruinarles los detalles, pero les puedo decir que es con una tienda de ropa que me ha gustado bastante, y que en el momento en que me enviaron su catálogo, ¡me gustaron todas las prendas de su colección! Escoger el atuendo perfecto me tomó un par de días, pero espero que les guste lo que seleccioné. Manténganse al tanto de Geek Q ya que proximamente verán esa colaboración por este medio.
