Fading into Summer (Liebster Award)

Hello Geek Q’ers! How is your week going so far? I hope you are all having the best of weeks yet and that you’ve been enjoying the spring weather so far. Here in Seattle, we had an almost perfect week with days full of sunshine and record highs. 70 degrees in April? That’s something you don’t hear commonly here in the Pacific Northwest. Those temperatures are more typical of late June or July, while right now we should be hovering between the high 50s and low 60s. I can’t complain though! It’s good to be able to start to wear my summer clothes even in the early season, and that’s what today’s post is about: how to dress in between seasons, specifically when spring fades into summer.

This is the trickiest part of the year to decide what to wear. Mornings can still be quite chilly, and there’s the occasional thunderstorm in the afternoon, so the right jacket is paramount to not being caught by surprise. My favorite jackets this time of the year are leather jackets, since they are not as warm as a winter coat, and they can get wet and you’ll still be dry. Underneath the jacket, you can wear long sleeves or short sleeves. I don’t mind wearing short sleeve right now since it’s been so hot during the afternoon these past few days. This time I chose a Topman short-sleeve button down, which has a really nice color pattern. As you can see it’s fading from purple to pink, kind of like spring fades into summer. I paired this shirt with my J Crew yellow chino shorts and my Clarks Wallabee boots (relax, they are not made from Wallabi, it’s just the model). What do you think? This ensemble works pretty well all throughout the day, and it looks fresh and has a bit of an edge to it.

That’s all for now you guys. Thank you for stopping by today! It is my 6-month anniversary since I started the new blog, and your support through these first 6 months of blogging has been outstanding. I can’t tell you guys enough times how much I appreciate all your comments, likes, shares, and reads. That just pushes me to try and work harder in my looks and on my posts, and makes me keep going in this journey we all began together. Both this blog and myself have matured so much over these months and it’s all because of you. For that I’m truly grateful. Remember to be stylish and keep your own voice strong. Let’s go for another 6 months together, and many more after. See you next time!

¡No me puedo quejar!

Liebster Award

A few weeks ago I was nominated by Mira from Admirably Legal to the Liebster Award, and sometime ago I was nominated once again by Damaris from Styled2Z. I want to thank both of you for nominating me for this amazing award, I feel so honored, and now, I get to answer both of your questions and continue the blog love chain on to some of my blogger friends. Hence, I humbly accept the Liebster Award and here are my answers:

What inspires you every morning?

Learning something new everyday. I feel that the moment you stop learning is the moment when you start getting old, so I like to learn at least something new each day. Doesn’t need to be something very complicated, could be a new fact or skill, something about someone you didn’t know before, or something about yourself even.

Where do you go when you need to get away?

My room. It’s really just a space that I feel is completely my own and where I can think without being disturbed.

What is your favorite dessert?

Arroz con leche. It’s a very sweet, Mexican rice pudding with cinnamon made out of milk.

What can you not go without each day?

Laughing! I love to laugh about even the silliest of things.

What is your favorite book?

100 years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Who is your favorite designer?

Alexander McQueen. I love a unique point of view, and also I love taking risks.

What is the kindest thing someone has said to you?

Don’t live every moment as if it was your last one, but as if it was the only one.

If you could pick up and move anywhere in the world, where would you go?

New York City or London.

Who is your fashion icon/inspiration?

I have many! Men: Ryan Gosling, David Beckham, Justin Timberlake, Adam Levine. Women: Emma Watson, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Kate Middleton

What physical quality do you typically notice first when you meet someone new?

The eyes.

What do you like to do for fun?

Go to the movies, go to concerts, read, snowboard, karaoke, hanging out with friends, taking photographs, and of course, shopping.

Favorite superhero?

Thor. He’s a badass, rebel semi-god with a hammer and it can’t get any better than that.

Favorite villain?

The Joker and Loki.

Favorite singer?

Current: Lana del Rey, Mark Foster (from Foster the People), Ariana Grande, Adam Levine. All-time: Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand.

What song defines your current mood?

Up – Olly Murs ft. Demi Lovato.

No cell phone or no Wi-Fi for a day?

No cell phone. I can’t work without Wi-Fi!

Favorite book series?

Harry Potter.

Currently, you want to book a vacation to?

China and Japan.

So that’s it! More about me :). I want to nominate the following bloggers to continue the chain:

And here are your questions:

  1. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
  2. What is your favorite cuisine?
  3. What is your favorite movie?
  4. What inspired you to create your blog?
  5. When was the first time you visited the sea?
  6. Ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, or something else?
  7. If you could live the life of a famous person for a day, who would you be? What would you do?
  8. What new language would you like to learn?

Now go and nominate 8 bloggers, answer these 8 questions on your blog and post 8 new questions for your blogger friends! Let’s continue the chain and keep sharing the love! See you next time!

Cheers,
Hector

    1. I know right?! She’s amazing! So classy and chic, but she always knows how to give something extra with the accessories (I love when she wears gloves). Thanks for reading and can’t wait to read your answers!
