Blue Valentine

Hello beautiful people! I hope everyone’s week is going as well as mine is. These past few days have been gorgeous up here in the Pacific Northwest. It almost feels like Spring’s already here, and I’m getting super excited because it seems that this Spring season is going to be fantastic. I already have a few trips planned (I’m going to Mexico in March for a friend’s wedding and to LA a few weeks after). As you know I love traveling, and it makes me really happy that my job allows me to do that. It’s one of the advantages of working in the world of tech, I just need a laptop and Internet connection and I can work from almost anywhere. I’m also really stoked because next week is my trip to Boston with Kim, who I met this week and took these really cool pictures of me. Thanks for the pics boo, I’m sure we’ll get many more in the East Coast.

Here I’m turning the volume up a little bit with a more uptown guy look. There’s just something I really like about wearing ties: they are classy, extremely fashionable, and they lift up casual outfits a lot. Pair a nice tie with a simple button-down, say a checkered plaid shirt, and you will notice the big difference it can make. For instance this blue tie, which is one of my favorites, gives the shirt the punch it needed to become a statement piece. Even though it hasn’t been too cold lately it’s still good to wear some layers, especially during the morning, so a wool cardigan and jacket will do the trick to keep you warm during the day. I’m also showing you guys my phone case. When I saw it in the store the other day it was love at first sight, and I just feel it’s really me (you can never wear to much plaid right?) For the bottom part I’m wearing joggers and tennis shoes. See how you don’t need to dress super formal to be able to pull off a tie in your look? It looks preppy, hip, and it is way more comfortable. This weekend is Valentine’s Day, so I want to send a big shout out to all of my friends and people that have been so amazing to me for these past few months. The blog has matured so much during this time; the other day I was browsing through my old posts and I couldn’t believe how much it has changed. This is all thanks to you for being so supportive and for helping me on this journey. I feel so blessed for having so many awesome people in my life. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for being there for me and I want to let you know that you can count on me too. In my beloved Mexico this is the day not only for love, but friendship as well, so whether you have someone special in your life or not, just remember you’re surrounded by incredible people who love you just as much and think you’re the world to them; just like you are the world to me. See you very soon and remember to put your voice out in the way you dress. ¡Hola gente bonita! Espero que todos estén teniendo una excelente semana al igual que yo. En estos últimos días el clima ha estado increíble acá en el Pacífico Noroeste. Ya casi se siente como primavera, y estoy muy emocionado porque al parecer la temporada va a estar bastante buena. Ya tengo un par de viajes planeados (voy a México en marzo para ir a la boda de un amigo y a LA un par de semanas después). Como saben, me encanta viajar, y realmente me hace muy feliz el hecho de que mi trabajo me lo permite con cierta frecuencia. Es una de las ventajas de trabajar en el mundo de la tecnología, sólo necesito de una laptop y de conexión a Internet y ¡listo! Puedo trabajar desde casi cualquier lugar. También estoy muy emocionado porque la próxima semana viajaré a Boston con Kim, con quien me reuní esta semana para tomar estas fotografías. Gracias por las fotos amiga, estoy seguro de que tomaremos muchas más en la costa este.

El día de hoy subimos un poquito el volumen con un look ligeramente más formal. Si hay algo que me fascina es utilizar corbatas: son clásicas, extremadamente a la moda y levantan los outfits casuales en gran medida. Pónganse una corbata con una camisa de botones, como una camisa de cuadros, y notarán la gran diferencia. Por ejemplo, esta corbata azul que es una de mis favoritas, le da a la camisa ese punch que necesita para subir de nivel. Aunque no ha estado tan frío últimamente sigue siendo buena idea vestirse en capas, especialmente en las mañanas, entonces un cardigan de lana y una chamarra fueron suficientes para mantener mi calor durante el día. También les muestro mi nueva funda para el celular. Cuando la vi en la tienda fue amor a primera vista, pues siento que es muy yo (¿nunca puedes vestirte con demasiados cuadritos, verdad?) Para la parte de abajo estoy vistiendo joggers y tenis. ¿Ven como no se necesita uno vestir demasiado formal para poder utilizar una corbata? Se ve moderno, hip, y es mucho mas cómodo así. ¿Están de acuerdo conmigo? ¿Les agrada este look?

Este fin de semana es el día de San Valentín, así que quiero mandar un saludo a todos mis amigos y la gente que me ha apoyado tanto en estos últimos meses. El blog ha madurado bastante en este tiempo; el otro día pasaba por los posts más viejos y no podía creer lo mucho que ha cambiado. Todo esto es gracias a ustedes y al apoyo y cariño que me han dado a lo largo de este viaje. Me siento bendecido por tener a tanta gente tan maravillosa en mi vida. Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecerles a todos por estar ahí y quiero que sepan que yo también estoy ahí para ustedes. En México, hoy no es sólo el día del amor, sino también el día de la amistad. Así que tengan o no a alguien especial en sus vidas, sólo recuerden que están rodeados de gente increíble que los ama tanto y para los que ustedes son su mundo; así como ustedes que son el mío. Los veo muy pronto y recuerden dejar oír su voz por la manera en la que visten. ¡Hasta la próxima!
